yeah mine kinda did this, but they r not on springs, i looked. the knob electronic "box"(contains the lights and board for each knob) right behind the dash are all on a big plastic sheet that is connected at each end, so it bends a little. so i wopuldnt do it often, u might break some plastic.

Mad, you know what'd be good?

Put on the knobs you like, and run some LED's with wires to the holes in the new knobs. Seal them in place with some clear epoxy or silicone.

That'd kick some ass! There should be room behind the knobs to hide the wire. Just make sure it's flexible. Hell, I think I'll do that now.

You could use kynar wire to wire up the led. It is wire that is used for wrapping electro magnets and stuff.

It is not the lights I am now worried about... I just do not like the HUGE gap between the second gen knobs and my first gen dash... I am waiting to see how the new aluminum knobs for the GK look before I do anything else.. might be a case of something I have to have made... and if I have them made.. I can definatly make them match my Race Air shift knob.

Java, where can you get that wire? How much? Think that would work?

Mad, I think I get you.

Well, the GK ones I got are nice and small. There is also a ring that goes on the outside of them. I think you can install that recessed a bit and it'll hide that big gap.

Or you could shave down the posts they mount on a bit.

You can get it at radio shack for about $4 a spool.

Military Discount. $49 shipped, for a all black one.

Yes, Majin Chithonan had this same one on his doomed tib.
