Whats waiting to be installed on my car...

When I get home and learn how to solder, I will, I promise. BTW, I won a extra brand new 2nd Gen Full dash on Ebay last month, so I get to do the whole thing in my time, and do the full switch of the dash when I'm done.
i remember bidding on a dash on ebay and losing.LOL. if you are gonna sell your old dash after u switch the new one in ill take that off your hands. reason being, the previous ownner of my car used superglue and put those (IMO) gay string lights all over the dash and seriously fvcked it up. lol.gif

Java, find some better pics of it and someone will chop it for you.
Tibby01, deal man.
Mad, they'll fit yours too, they all have the same style shaft.

It's not the shaft I am worried about. I tried to put second gen knobs on my car and while they did fit the shafts.. they did not fit the openings in the dash nor did they line up on the lights very well.
I think the fan knob worked.. and the others would have required a lot of work to make work.

I'm not THAT worried about the lights lining up, I just want it to look good. I'll let you know on both when I return.
Ok.. I was just playing with the knobs on my car (sounds kinky, no?) and discovered this.. Gen two knobs WILL fit the shafts on the gen one.. but nothing else.
The Tempeture knobs is the only one that sits properly.. all the rest sit away from the dash with a large gap.. however, it is now backwards from the gen one knob.. I would have to pop the silver plastic iff and reset it.
The control and fan knobs are set the correct way.. however, the gen one knobs are skirted.. while gen two are not.. meaning the opening for the shaft on the Gen2 knob is even with the bottom of the knob.. on the gen 1 it is set back into the knob by close to half a centermetre.. so when a gen two knob is put on a gen one dash.. it sits that far from the dash itself.. I could set the heater controls further back into the dash to make up for this (I think) but that does not help with the temp knob.. which already sits flush with the gen two knob installed..
I also noticed.. I can press the knobs "back" into the dash slightly with a little pressure and they pop right back out as if on springs.. do the gen two cars do this too?
