Yup, but there's not 500000000 people here trying to get a house wink1.gif The one that's going for 40k has been sitting there for a while. This isn't the same house but check this out:

I'm moving to the Hamptons. You can get a beautiful mansion with the best ocean views for $20 million or so. lmao.gif

i live in the same type of situation as TC. My city used to be alright when it comes to real estate, but lately the price has been rising slowly west of boston. we're goin up. a craptacular apartment is like $600. and that doesn't include heat/hot water.

you don't see houses under 250,000 anymore. but... living wage is more here also. Min wage in Mass is $6.75.... just stuff is more expensive when everyone is jam packed in one location (like new england)

needless to say i'm milking the free living w/ the rents til something comes up...

speaking of. anyone in a warmer climate wanna split an apartment? i'd need a couple months down there for $$ saving... i wanna leave here. like now. lemme know

Basically the smaller the city the cheaper you can find housing, Where I live (80000 population) the "average" house price is $130000. Go 2 hours north to Calgary (1 million population) and the "average" house costs you $225000!eek.gif

It is a good idea to get into paying for a house when you are younger if possible cause just think you will be laughing when it is all paid off and you are still young enough to have fun with modding cars!! haha I plan on having my house paid off before I am 40.

I think most people have something that they like to spend alot of money/time on whether it be sports or traveling the world or collecting collectables etc. I know I have thought "geez how can they spend that much money on that?? Then I look at myself and I am no better, I just spend it on something different. For me it is my cars and I love it, I say do what makes you happy, you only live once people and you can't take it with you!

South Carolina has a wierd climate. You just don't know what the weather will be like. The weather forecasters are just saying stuff for sh!ts and giggles.

my house i picked up for 76,500. built 30 years ago, 3 bed rooms, 3 1/2 car garage, and my driveway is long enough to fit 18 cars in, we have proved that. hehe

its all location. if my house was closer to chicago, id be worth over 150k no prob, but im an ahour away, quite convinient.
