Its like a black plug looking thing. If you remove it you can see the opening through the hole. In the car if you look to the left of the fuse panel under the dash there might be what looks like a rubber mat (if you have it) and behind that is the opening which leads to where the hole is.
I am not home right now, but if you need a pic of what I am talking about I can get one to you this weekend.

Been looking at mine as well and it is making a lot of noise too. I am looking at trying to get something like a piece of a vacumm hose. Cut to fit then cut the side of it to slide over then tape close. Will that work or is that a bad idea?

That little piece of Shh...t is guilty! I am not a big fan of audio setups (I mean with subs and amplifiers; besides I don't have the money for that smile.gif ) but I have a rattling noise from the back also, I striped the back the same way you did, and the only piece to guilt there is that one. A dealer mechanic told me the latch itself makes a little noise, but I am trying to figure out how to get rid of it. If only I could get it out, maybe wrapping it with a vacuum hose could make it vibrate less... I don't know. But please, if you do find a solution (and by the pics it seems you are pretty decide to do it) , post a DIY on it
