Default SPIDER-MAN 2....

Madtib.. i've only melted plastic once on accident when i first tried fiberglass... i learned quickly to follow the directions after that.

You have any suggestions other then the foam idea for me to create my shell?

I'm not sure exactly that I understand how you are trying to go about this. Are you laying a piece(s) of wood down in the trunk, then make pedestals for the amp and stuff?

It seems to me that expanding foam would not work that well for a large set up.I have worked with the 2 part stuff, and it is wonderful, but not too sure for something large. You might be better off using select products mold fabric.Stretch that across everything and secure it down. Then use cheap paint brushes to lay on the resin.Once that is set, then you could lay up a couple/few layers of mat.

nah, the mold fabric wont work because i want to be able to remove the "shell" so it isn't permanent.

I'll just go with the foam and see how that works, im pretty sure it will

Great stuff sucks as for shaping/sanding.You are better off with the 2 part liquid foam that select products carries.

If you use the mold fabric in conjunction with a 'floor', then it'll be removable. You still haven't really explained how you are trying to go about this.I can't really help much otherwise.

it's ok Madtib.. the Great Stuff will work just fine for me. I'm not doing any crazy shapes, so i dont need to shape/contour it that much.. i just need to use it to get a general shape. It will work fine, i tested a small part out today, but didnt finish, because i need to wire all my stuff up first before i go on and make the "shell".... something i overlooked but thought of today.

Soo, tomorrow i'll be wiring everything up hopefully i'll get it all done tomorrow, and maybe sunday if need be. Then i'll start with the shell on my off days next week.
