My aforementioned mod is nearing completion. Goodbye coin holder.
Showing the removable spacer underneath. It's actually 3x as deep. Too small to be used as a cupholder, except perhaps with one of those energy drinks. thinking.gif
Just needs paint. Has anyone here had good results painting this section? It's a little on the flexy side. My current plan is to sand the whole thing, use some adhesion promoter, then SEM texture spray for a slight pebble grain, then a few coats of the same black I'm using for the shifter and radio surrounds. I'm thinking about painting the climate control section while I'm at it, so all the black will match and have the same pebble grain (similar to the grain on the stock silver dash pieces).
The nice thing about hacking up this part of the interior is that I plan to replace it eventually anyway. I need a lidded pocket to rest my elbow on.

Let's see. today i woke up at 5am to get calipers and e-brake cables from a junkyard.
Took them to a friends shop and got to work. I got a little carried away with the car and eneded up working on it (doing various mods) until 2:30am. Talk about a full day.
Anyway, at the end of the day I ended up with:
--painted calipers (turned out a really nice even blue to match the rotor hub's blue)
--rear brake swap (finally!)
--drilled/slotted rotors install (only in the back..I will need a machine shop to press the front ones onto the hub for me later).
--new brake pads all around
--New SS Godridge Brake Lines all around...(very nice brake feel). No problems.
--Angel eyes installed to interior switch and powered by "always-hot" wire so i can turn them on by the flip of a switch w/o the car on.
--replaced rear hatch gas struts with stronger ones, now my hatch opens by itself when i pop the trunk with the key.
--changed oil
--flushed and replaced antifreeze/coolant
--replaced spark plugs with new NGk's
--fixed timing belt slippage issue.(i hope...)
--changed Power Steering and Alternator belts with aftermarket belts made out of GoodYear tires (and glad I did, my PS belt had cracks al over and was about to split in one area).
That's it for today. Those front rotors need to go on asap tho. that's the only thing I wanted to do that didnt' get done. damn!

Yea, I know. I probably won't return it, but it's the principle of the thing.

Like I said, I won't return it and don't care about the color. It's just the principle of the thing. I told him "I want red, but would be satisfied with silver. I do not want blue." Now wouldn't you classify him as a bad seller?

You can see it when it's installed. I have a red one and if you look real close at the proper angle..... lol. Just throw some blue anodized fittings under your hood somewhere and it will all be good.

O...M...G! My Sparco Luxor Shift Boot just came in. This thing was worth every penny. The leather is pure Italian, looks like it, and smells like it. *drool* And the chrome top is like a mirror. *bling!*
Seriously, if you can shell out the $78, buy this one!

Yea, I used to have a UR Pulley and I could see it fairly easily. Or at least its obvious what color it is.
I already have some red/blue Earls fitting with some braided lines. So I do have some blue in the bay.
Like I said, it's just the principle of the transaction. I asked for something, he even advertised it, but sent something different. Oh well.

Installing my engine mounts after work today, i eurethaned the kspec ones in place, fitment wsn't 100% in the rear one. i'm also gonna clean the TB and TPS, and lube the shifter cable bushings, i want the engine to be as responsive and accurate as possible.
