I am just glad you appear to be doing something to your car.. and from the looks of it.. going deep into it as well.
Here are the parts for the reverse opening hood I am working on...

See, my big problem is I think Hood Pins are ugly.. but the only way I could see to secure a Carbon Fibre hood without them would be to make the hood open forwards (like on my italian cars). The hardest part was finding the correct hinges that would allow the hood to flip forwards AND move up some so that the leading edge of the hood cleared the bumper. Thankfully somebody bought the wrong hood hinges for their E46 (3 series) BMW and put these on ebay for a song.
Now once I mount my hood and relocate the catch to the firewall.. I should not have to ever worry about the hood coming up in my face. It will also be cool to see.
I also picked up this.

A rubber lined bag for storing a quart of oil in your car. These are made for Porsches mostly as the air cooled models both hold a lot of oil and go through quite a bit. I thought it would be a nice touch in my trunk.
I am dangerous when I am home sick with only eBay to keep me company

^^ I wouldn't claim to go for power if I wasn't doing something. Or maybe I decided to strip the car apart to Dynamat it for some boom boom. Maybe I'm really a ricer. Bahhahahhhahahahaha...yep. My new goal is to fit 20 12" subs in the back. Enough bass to alter your heartbeat, and possibly flat line and resuscitate you. Or maybe I'm dropping in the Santa Fe AWD powertrain (2.7L Delta).
Yeah...them V6s blow up ALL the time.... eyeroll.gif
Reverse opening? As in Corvette reverse hood opening where it opens up from the windshield? Interesting. Good way of preventing a C/F hood from flying up AT you. Though, I'd probably figure out a way to latch it...just in case some freak of nature occurs.

yes, like the vette where it opens from where it meets the windshield. And it is going to latch, just need to shorten the pull cable and move the stock latch from infront of the radiator to the firewall...
lol, my old 85 accord had a reverse opening hood. laugh.gif
my current latest mods...
goodridge brake lines and eibach sway bars were put on.
putting that front bar on using jackstands only was a b****, and it is probably scratched to all hell. its in though, and my car handles even better now.

about 10 bucks plus shipping on ebay. The seller only has a few left
My old excel also had a reverse opening hood. It really does not make it any harder to work on the car. If anything I find it a little easier as the hood goes all the way upright so you do not need to lean down under it.
My Lancia's engine compartment lid hinges from the side. When I want to do anything to that car, I literally have to crawl in there and sit . Thankfully there is enough room to do that. The front trunk lid opens from the windsheild though... which I do find a little strange. I imagine a lot of those cars got their fenders beaten up with luggage.

Actually, if you flatten out the notches in the stock hinges that stop it, you could get the hood to swing up a lot more. Then you would need to get a longer hood prop, or just make a set of hydrolic hood props like the new Tibs.
I actually thought about doing this a while back, but I've been occupied with more important things.
Got another mod in today. Yes, it's like I'm getting something every other day. tongue.gif
I got this from a guy that never used it. It's a $80 filter and I got it brand new for $60 shipped. It's huge and flows enough fuel for like eleventy-billion HP, and filter to like 10 microns. I put a can next to it to show how big it is. It'll go nice with my stainless fuel lines and red FPR to match. fing02.gif That and I have a red Tib so......

Oh yea, and for those wondering, that is what the Bug Light cans look like in Texas. Anyone got a pic of one in their state? I always wondered what they looked like.
