did you machine the area where the IM and TB bolt together? just wondering cause of the pics it looks like it was ground smooth with a hand grinder.

it may not be a big deal since you need a gasket between the two but if you would be using spacers the flatter then better.

but overall, anyone welding aluminum and have it not crack is a job well done. very nicely done.

should we start a list of everyone that wants one......LoL, why not.

Yeah welding aluminum is a b****, its even harder when your trying weld cast to a 6061-t6, the throttle body flange is the one from the stock manifold, I just sawed it off the stock plemun and cleaned it up and opened it up to 65mm then welded it to the new plenum, saved alot of time by doing that, and any grinding marks you see are just me sanding the welds down to give it a smoother look. This is the first one I ever did so if I where to make another it would most likely come out much nicer, Ive been a metal fabricator for almost 20 years now and I can tell you things always come out better if you take your time and not try to punch it out in a few hours.

yeah that's beautiful. the airram does give a little kick but nothing to be truly proud of but i don't have an aftermarket TB so it's restricting some air.

i'd say test it out and compare.

HaHA, If I had a dollar for everytime i have said that to someone my Tib would be complete. no truer words said my friend.

I've been in metal fabrication/welding since 1986, started in my Dad's welding shop.

thanks for answering my questions, you definitely did it the right way. the pics were telling me different and that is why i asked is all.
