I always cary a fire extinguisher in my car.

It's not just a pretty part that I painted. It's very functional. Whenever I work with fuel, I keep that fire extinguisher on hand. I also keep it on hand after doing any sort of major power project to my car. You can never be too careful. A fire extinguisher costs $20 from Pep Boys and gives you peace of mind just knowing it's in the trunk. You can bolt it right to the metal frame on the back of the rear seats. I will remove just about everything from my trunk to make room, however the fire extinguisher will always stay. When you've modified a car, you take on a big risk. A fire extinguisher reduces that risk.

great news! everythings covered, and get this, it still runs! The insurance appraiser wanted to know if it even ran to know if it was worth fixing. I put in a couple quarts of oil that was lost and it started right up with fried spark plug wires and all. I let it run for about 5-6 minutes and it seems to be just fine. It was missing a little bit but with 2 wires nearly burnt in two I was surprised it started at all.
The throttle cable is completely siezed up, I can't put the pedal down at all! Even the super melted tps still works. I'll try to post some photo's tonight, Davonne snapped a few while the appraiser was at the house.

Good to hear man!
And if you are ever driving and something catches fire by the time you stop, get to the trunk, pop the hood (which could be hard to do since there will likely be flames by the latch) and put it out, chances are the car is pretty much toast anyway.
Glad the Cow had some water on hand but the best way to take care of fire suppression is an automatic system.
Not saying you shouldnt have one by any means but that stuff happens very quick and spreads quick.

The insurance company (Kentucky farm bureau) said they'll cover all the damages and give me a rental. The appraiser asked me if it was pretty fast. That was about it, he snapped a few photo's and left. I've got to get quotes on the body and mechanical work and they'll write me a check.
