Supercow, I'm really sorry to hear about the fire. I know it's very disheartening. Don't give up on tuning, even if you need to take a break from it. Remember how great it is when it all finally comes together.
For everyone else: If you don't already have a small fire extinguisher in your car . . .
. . . will you please go get one now?
How many other members' cars do you have to read about going up in smoke, before you get a fire bottle? Even a cheap one from wal-mart, rattling around next to your spare tire, is better than waiting 15 minutes for the fire dept. to show up. To paraphrase one of my favorite jokes about carrying guns 24/7:
Q: why do you have a fire extinguisher in your spare tire well?
A: because a whole fireman wouldn't fit!

no fire extinguisher... but I did have a bottle of sams club water that had literally been in the tib for over a year while I've been doing all this work on it. I almost threw it out a couple times but didn't in case I got thirsty, looks like the tib got thirsty first! I'd say it burnt for 30 seconds max before me and my friend tyler had it out.
Even at that it'll need a hood, valve cover, wires, couplers, maf, filter, hoses, etc.

I thinking either a leak in the feed line to the turbo or a crack in one of my spark plug wires and some oil. Fuel didn't get loose but my turbo feed line is completely melted as is the valve cover and all the plug wires. The wires were pretty old, I went back to them after prd never replaced the ones I sent them.
Sorry to hear about that, Supercow! It was 1 year ago that I got onto the parking lot, from work, and found my car against a cement wall. I was discouraged, but never gave up. Now, after spending countless hours since then, and seeing how my interior has come together (all else is also fixed), I've got that happy and proud feeling all over again. Give yourself a month, or so, and you'll be happier when you will have had it all back together again! Hang in there!

sorry for you... you didn't idle the car for a few before driving? or test battery voltage or nothing? what the hell lead to this? it's gotta have something to do with the turbo/aftermarket because it's one of the first times i hear this on a hyundai.
