I got my car running for about 20 minutes tonight. Then it caught on fire. I'm not sure but I think it was electrical. I fortunately had a bottle of water in the tib.

I got it put out pretty quickly but it did a lot of damage. I'm not sure whats going to happen with the insurance company just yet. sad.gif

I'm pretty discouraged. This was the first time for it to be out on the road in over a year and about half of the work I put into it over that time got melted. I'm going to be needing a lot of parts if it doesn't end up being totaled but I'll worry about that after the insurance adjuster comes by.

I had a small electrical fire in mine at one time. Mine was interior and luckily I caught it immediately. Hope yours is ok.

 

This is also the reason you need to use the proper fuses on everything. They prevent electrical fires.

 

who knows, I just said electrical cause all the spark plug wires are practically gone. But a lot of stuff is burnt up, the oil line to the turbo is completely burnt up. I haven't checked the fuses yet but everything was fused. Maybe the oil line burst.
