Does anyone have a picture of engine mounting number 1 after it has been modified?

early scoupe's had the mitsu engine
later scoupe's had the accent sohc engine

turbo scoupe is a turbo sohc 1.5L identical to accent engine and they only came out late in the production run after the change in engine

I've never heard of someone using the stock beta one. I think it might be aluminum so most people couldn't weld it. You can also contact Ryan Olsen from Beta Swap Shop and see if he'll make you a mount.

okay. I thought i read somewhere that some used a beta mount as it was beefier. I have sent him emails in the past but never got a reply. will send him another. Thanks anyone ever broken the alpha tranny with beta engine. Do you think turboing a beta will be overkill. I hope mine last. My tranny was happy at 400nm. Anyone bought anything from soulfulracing?

Yeah, the Beta tends to break the Alpha tranny, and sometimes the Beta tranny. But some people get a fairly long life out of the Alpha trans.

I don't think Beta turbo is overkill at all. stock Beta isn't that awesome, and a N/A built beta isn't much better.

im reading that if the mount is not installed correctly it could cost you a motor is that correct? How is that possible?

While I suppose that's always a possibility I just meant that most DIY'ers can't weld aluminum but can weld steel, and the Accent mount is steel, but it seems like (may be wrong) the Beta one is aluminum. It seems like you can reuse your Alpha mount, just cut everything off the round part and weld a piece of square steel tube on with holes to fit the Beta's mounting studs.

alpha mount can be modified for beta engine
its drivers side engine mount...or in your case passenger side engine mount
