Hyundai Accent Forum The Hyundai Accent Forum. Hyundai's little champ. While the Hyundai Accent and Hyundai Excel may be small, they respond very well to aftermarket modifications and is among the favorites for Hyundai tuners.

3 manual V6 GK Tiburons, 1 with a sri, 2 with cai's made 159-161whp on the same dyno, the same day. The same dyno day, 2 stock manual GK V6's made 147 and 152whp.

That is enough for me. Plus I have never seen a stock car of the same type make more power on a dyno, ever, than an identical car with an intake.

Back to back dyno pulls are also BS on a car with a LEARNING ECU. Results are totally unreliable in that situation.

Every ECU learns.

Short term and long term trims aren't just for show you know.

What feedback does the ECU use to adjust its full-load fuel trims anyway? The narrow band 02 sensor is way out of its depth on a full-power dyno run.

Anyhoo, I did some messing around this afternoon, and rigged up my spare intake with a very KDM pink bottle cap, blocking off resonator A.

I then ran some tests, I tried to be as scientific as I could, but I didn't have any meaningful way of recording acceleration or power. I decided to time 20-95 km/h, in gear acceleration runs.

So. There's a long way to go, both with my testing technique and the tuning options avilable. However, I will show the world that the factory intake (or a modified version of it) is the way to go. If I get the time, I'll do manometer testing on my intake too. Here's an interesting autospeed series on the matter.

This is a fact... My '01 Tib was 100% bone stock and strapped to a Dynojet dyno. It made 109 whp. Without even unstrapping the car, I installed the AEM and ran it again 15 minutes after the stock run. There were no changes in weather conditions and 15 minutes was not enough time for the engine to cool off. It then made 121 whp. You could also clearly hear the car rev faster.

If the MAF sensor was skewed...

Not uncomon for a car that runs rich to gain a bit when leaned out.

MAF sensors don't "run rich". MAF sensor was untouched. It wasn't moved or even unplugged.
