I'm fine with the 2 extra dollars, just looking forward to production.

So,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,!The picture in the GB,was the ring I made.It took about an hour to do.If anybody took the simple drawing I gave in the D.I.Y.forum and brought it to your local machine shop,I'm sure they would charge 1 hr shop fee + material. The reason it got expensive is due to the programing for a cnc machine.THIS DOES NOT NEED TO BE MADE BY A CNC.I used a simple lathe and milling machine.I too was disappointed that I could not come up with the funds to support this project as you would all have them by now.Anyways hope it all works out in the end but IMO,get it done for yourselves,or at least try to see what options you have.Merry Christmas everybody.Larrs

well i'm sorry if i pissed you off john but i have the resources in terms of friends that CAN do it cheaper. I told you in my pm to you that I was getting it looked into after Larrs dropped the idea about making them. when you said you was going to do the project i wanted to see how much you could get them done for and how many people were interested. the interest is low because of the price, simple as that.

when i get the first prototype from my guy this weekend (yes it is done) I will post a pic of it. he basically has a 8 ft. lg chunk of aluminum tubing big enough all he basically has to do is take .030" off the O.D. and .100" off the I.D. and then cut to length. he had one cut and completely off the tube he told me in 5 minutes, on a engine lathe... could you imagine the CNC lathe he has that could do it 100X faster?

I thought I was being cool to you in asking you if I should pursue this any furthur. It was your baby, and If someone cockblocked me on a project I would be pissed.

I'm not upset at any particular person. I'm just wondering why no one spoke up about making them several months ago when this product was demanded. All the sudden, after going this far with it, I get like 5 people saying they could do it cheaper and have machine shops at their disposal.
Also the fact that there's like 10 other people that aren't in the GB because it's $5-10 more than expected. Seriously, just eat a hotdog instead of going to McDonalds for once and you'll have that extra five bucks.

I really don't mind if someone else takes this over. Who knows, maybe you can get it that $5 cheaper and get more people in on it. I've got other projects I can start working on anyways.

I'd say it has flamed out. I'm telling you, 2/3 of the folks listed won't pay when asked, and will have excuses or not even reply for months.

This is why you take payment when you put the GB up and leave it up until it's full.

I'm going to hit up Ursonvus about it.
