I was just thinking 2 lines, going all the way around the ring, one inside and one outside of the hole, right near the edge.

Just an idea. Get the next proto done and get pics up. I want mine before the shows in March. LOL

You kick ass man. BTW, do you need me to PM or email you about the other project I need done ASAP?

My price was $53 for just the ring. The hardware and shipping was all extra.

I haven't left this GB. I was just giving the other people time to get quotes since that was basically demanded by you all. It's not like I just abandoned this. People complained about the price, so I gave other people a chance to come up with their "bids".

There is an extra spot in there that is taken to make 20 total. It's something that was talked about through pm's as a gift............ Those people that were in the conversation know what its about.

I did not take any payments. As the instructions say, I was waiting for there to actually be 30 interested before started that stage. And there's not.........

Can you get better resolution photos? Did you make sure there was a space under the ring for a thicker shift boot?

I doubt there is any room for a line to go around the ring between the holes and the edges. The countersunk holes are drilled right up against the chamfer already.

I'm still in for these. They look good.

REDZ, I'm sure you could have it engraved at one of those kiosks in a mall or something. Thats probably what I'll do with mine.

we decided the price to be $50/ring with the remaining amount for hardware and shipping. I can order all the hardware at cost through my shop and ship these via UPS out of my shop at a unbelieveable price reduction compared to going to a UPS store. they will also be insured for $100 through UPS at no extra cost to the buyer.

yeah, and complained when people said they could get them produced at a cheaper cost. I felt like when i pm'ed you about this I was trying to help everyone in this community, not kick you out. I was asked by administration here to get my guy on it. I did, and will have a finished piece to look at tomorrow.

I'm getting two made and giving them to REDZ and Javageek for the work they do for this site, so what?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I did not take any payments. As the instructions say, I was waiting for there to actually be 30 interested before started that stage. And there's not.........</div>

I'm getting 30 made whether or not I have 30 sold and sell the other 10 as time goes by.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Can you get better resolution photos? Did you make sure there was a space under the ring for a thicker shift boot?</div>

sorry about the res, my digicam is old , only 2.1 mp. as fas are the space for a thicker shift boot there literally can't be a thicker shift boot than the ones that Marla makes, they make the OEM version look like paper IMO. the newer, revised rings will be thinner than the one i have to provide more roomand there is a relief cutout for the boot ring as well incorporated as well.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I doubt there is any room for a line to go around the ring between the holes and the edges. The countersunk holes are drilled right up against the chamfer already.</div>

very true on that. if the counterbored holes were made smaller to incorporate the grooves that you would like to have Jeremy, that would mean using smaller bolts in the ring itself. true, not a problem but might look a bit weird or out of place.

Jon, you said in post #64 you wouldn't mind if someone took this over if they could do it cheaper so i'm doing it.

this is excellent UrSONvS, that's the way it should be. thank you for manhaldling this buy and getting this settled on your time. the price is right where it needs to be, and i think you could squeeze more too. REDZ, if you want something engraved yeah there are places at the mall where they do this. one by me is called "things remembered" and you go up there and pay like $15 and they engrave anything you want. of course you would have to have a good talk with them because they might not want to perform a task they cannot garuntee or have no design for.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I'm getting 30 made whether or not I have 30 sold and sell the other 10 as time goes by.</div>

that's also the way it should be. just like the blue lens GB, when not as many people participated in the GB as did in his ebay auction. if you get 30 made no matter what, you're going to get them sold either way.

Hi,looks like these rings are going to happen, good news for all who were involved! The bolts I used are m3x.5x15 s.s./shcs w/m3 s.s.washer and m3 nut!I used a 7mm end mill for my counterbore diameter size.A normal counterbore bit for a m3 bolt leaves to big of a diameter. Also no reason to cut out plastic raised mounting tabs on the plastic cowl. The ring sits on that datum so the cutout for the boot fits. You allowed the ring to sit too low when you cut them out, hence the change to my design(you can see in your picture that the ring sits below the lip of the cowl). The press fit of the ring into the cowl is a must as the OEM ring is not a true 360 degree circle. It is out a little bit,but the ring dimension I gave allows the cowl to reshape along the ring. When it's all said and done these rings will rock.Congrats on the progress!Larrs

Well, that's still pretty close to my cost. The thing you will be saving us is the shipping that I had to include from my out of town supplier. You still need to get a "final" price to us.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>yeah, and complained when people said they could get them produced at a cheaper cost. Why do you continually take this personally??? I told you before, you were not the only one. And my frustration is coming from the few dollars that is making people change their minds, and the delay in getting this done.
Again, stop taking it personally.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I'm getting two made and giving them to REDZ and Javageek for the work they do for this site, so what?</div>
So what? What do they have anything to do with the extra spot?
That extra spot was a gift to someone by a few members. The spot is there, and I'm sure Redz will let you know who it was for, so drop it.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I'm getting 30 made whether or not I have 30 sold and sell the other 10 as time goes by.</div>
Again, it's nice that you have a hookup and resources that allow you to make 10 more rings. My supplier wasn't going to GIVE me those extra rings and let me pay him later.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Jon, you said in post #64 you wouldn't mind if someone took this over if they could do it cheaper so i'm doing it.</div>
And I still don't. I'm actually relieved that someone else is. I was a last resort at the time and was doing this free of cost because no one else would. I'm a busy guy and really don't have much time to sort out the rings, bolts, bags, and mail them. It's very time consuming.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>that's also the way it should be. just like the blue lens GB, when not as many people participated in the GB as did in his ebay auction. if you get 30 made no matter what, you're going to get them sold either way.</div>
Again, it's nice to have a "hookup". I'm not a business with enough capital to make 10 additional rings. I would have had to pay several hundred out of my own pocket and "hope" they sell soon afterwards. You don't see Flyryde making 10 extra hoods on top of what he owes do you? lmao.gif
Personally, from the demand that has already been shown, I don't see those extra 10 rings getting sold anytime soon.

Anyways, like I said, I'm glad I can wash my hands of it. I didn't really want to do it, but I wanted a ring myself and felt I was the only one that was going to go all the way with it and get the rest of the members rings too.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (UrS0NvS @ Jan 1 2008, 02:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>sorry, that is 60 TYD.

so used to giving TYD prices on my archery forums i forgot to be specific.</div>

60 shipped.

Jon, I'm not sure what you are talking about, with the one extra ring, maybe you can PM me or IM me tomorrow to refresh my memory?

I'm glad this is going through, I really want the fuel rail and the other project you have going Jon.
