thats what confused me when i talked to jongtr. i thought they just made a mass mistake on the hoods, but from the fitment pics on spiffys car, the latch was obviously right. what i dont understand is why they would extend the latch almost and INCH on the FG version/versions. you should be ok man.

chris, layeth the smacketh down on ITZ.. are there any other FG manufacturers that you could deal with around you, cuz i would recommend that..

two issues that i will actually admit were not your fault, are completely unacceptable from ITZ..

hood that dont latch within an INCH, and the bumper sent to AJ that was a Type S instead of a Type R. when they sent the type R, they didnt send a return packing slip.. sounds like ITZ just doesn't give a shit about you/us.

Yeah man, I'm glad you see that. Its just not worth the damn time and effort sometimes to make these parts when people dont understand I'm not out there laying CF myself. My account with ITZ sucks, and I'm a bad customer. I never pay them on time, even though I should which I'm working hard to rectify, but they've never given me good service even when I do. Its a bad situation, but the only way I could have made the parts I've made so far.

I swear though, Spiffys car looked great, I had no clue they could botch the job since they used Ericy321s old stock hood? They're just so stupid mangs, I dont know what to say aside from I'll show the pics to them.

John if you want, I can send you some free hood pins so that you can cut off the latch, or weld it or... honestly I dont care, but if you want some hood pins to help make up for the screw ups after the long wait, I have a set I can send you.

well, ill answer that for you.. he doesn't want hood pins lol..

it doesn't seem complicated but the latch would be a pretty PITA to fix. the best way would be to have 3/4" or w/e cut out of it, and have it welded together, but then it would look like a turd..

go to ITZ with a big fish and start smacking all the way up to henry.. and if henry is in HI, then get in a canoe WITH your big fish, paddle your ass across the pacific, and smack him with it. or just call the DOG. lmao.gif

if i was close to jon i would try and help him with this (possibly re FGing the latch in) but i think im like 9 hours away.

I paid for a LATCH, therefore I will be getting a latch. I'm not entrusting my hood, and more importantly, my WINDHIELD and ROOF to a set of ricey hood pins.

Ricey hood pins?

LOL

Hood pins are there for a reason Jon, you KNOW that, they are also REQUIRED at may tracks on lightweight hoods.

I've seen more than one hood rip off with the latch still attached, and the hood smashing up it's way down the track.

Hell, the only reason I sold my first hood without the latch is I couldn't find LOCKING hood pins at the time, now you can find them everywhere.

BTW, if you haven't noticed, almost all companies that make these hoods advise you to use hoodpins with the latch.

Have you contacted ITZ Jon? You said it was easy to get a hold of them, shouldn't they have fixed this by now?

First of all, I've also seen $25 hood pins snap off cause "you get what you pay for". That's what I mean by "ricey hood pins", and I'm not going to rely on them. Stop picking my post apart.

I stated MANY times that yes, I have contacted ITZ about it. They don't see me as a customer. I am Chris' customer. Therefore I must go through Chris. And Chris must straighten this out with them. I was all but hung up on.

So the ball is in Chris' court. But as Chris has told me numerous times, because I'm not paying the remaining shipping amount, I'm keeping all the RDT members from getting any more refunds.

Who said anything about $25 hood pins? Yup, you get what you pay for, that's for sure.

I'll pick anyone's post apart.

I just looked above at this thread, I didn't see you say you contacted them ONCE after the hood latch issue.

I see and understand both sides here. Chris needs to get a solution from the MFR's of the hood, and you need to pay him what you owe him. That's pretty easy to understand for everyone isn't it?

Chris, what has ITZ said about it?

I mentioned calling ITZ twice in the mod section.

So you want me to pay him the $200 for a chipped hood and bad latch, while I wait for him to hopefully get a refund from ITZ sometime soon? lmao.gif

Sorry, he had the upper hand for long enough. Now it's time for him to trust the customer once he figures out what ITZ has to say. Don't worry, the money's here, and it only takes a few clicks through Paypal once he gets things rolling.

I wasn't talking about the mod threads, I don't remember every detail of every thread Jon.

I thought you owed him $150, minus the money for the chip?

I understand where you are coming from, if I didn't, I wouldn't have tried to help or given suggestions.

So did the second hood have the same latch issue?
