Carbon Fiber Hatch, Shark Wing, And Shark Fenders

So there would be plastic windows? Is that common, what are drawbacks of that?
What is the weight of the stock hatch vs the cf hatch?
And how much of that weight is taken by the glass.
I agree that the center post should be left off.

plastic windows are VERY common with cf hatches. the plastic used is a lot lighter than glass, which is the point of a cf hatch. drawbacks...read through the thread, we've been discusing it the entire time. wink1.gif
stock hatch prolly weighs close to 100 lbs. this hatch with plasic rear windshield would be around 50 im guessing.

I was talking to some plastics guys today about lexan. they said reg. lexan scratches like a b****.. but they have a lexan which is tinted and also a lot harder polymer so it wont scratch or be less prone to scratching.. i could get you the exact code for the tinted lexan if you would like it.. supposedly its basically the same price as regular lexan.
everyone would probably be really interested in the tinted lexan because its harder (less or no scratches) and it would be tinted to match alot of tinted rides and hide systems, etc. otherwise i hope i will be able to fit my glass in cuz i will need it to be tinted..
please respond as soon as you can chris.. thanx..

I've seen the clearshield type stuff they put on the front of rides. It is virtually invisible less up close in front of the ride and it is a scratch/chip saver. It is pricey so my tint guy doesn't sell it much but I would get that over the lexan. Our problem is amber tinted windows all around so the hatch would be clear and colorless or I would have to get rid of an entire look of the car.
Keep us updated on what lexan options we have as I may go tinted but would like to know if I can get it clear and protect it myself BUT PUT ME DOWN FOR YOUR LIST on the HATCH and can we please get true CF "OEM" fenders. No wide body gilled stuff all the time. Thanks.
