I'm going to try to butcher my stock USA spec headlights. By taking them apart, I should hopefully be able to learn if it is possible to put the USA spec "light blocker" in the Korean Spec headlights.
I'll let you all know how it goes, and I'll take lots of photos of how to rip apart a USA spec headlight.
I've just been thinking about these HID lights, I believe that there may be a problem using these in lights that are equipped with the headlight level adjuster.
Looking at the length of the HID bulb, there may be a possibility that the bulb could get broken if the headlight lever is changed as the whole bulb housing moves.
Does this make any sense?

see if they will still offer them. keep in mind they use different bulbs.
Random,
the bulb holder itself moves, rather than the whole headlight.
HID bulb length

Side View of HID when fitted (vertical line represents the plastic screw cover that you make the whole in

and the problem would be that only parts beyond the screw cap move when the headlights are adjusted.
I hope that made some kinda sense.

When I put them in my driving lights they had a ton of play, nothing was anywhere near pinching them off. You'd have to be aiming for the moon to break the sucker.
The high-beam may be a bit tighter, the bulb is actually a bit too wide, I had to shave a bit of the side to get that in. That could pinch unless you shaved the whole slot down, but I haven't installed that set yet (too damn cold out).

Xorro-
You can adjust how much "play" there is in the wires inside of the cap. SO even if the cap stays stationary, the lights would have some range of motion, depending on how much extra wire you pushed through the rubber grommet.
If you are worried about the bulb actually "hitting" something inside of the light itself...I cannot comment as our USA lights don't move like that, so I don't know how different they would be inside.

Could the SR HID system, in theory, be adapted to the X3's headlights? From what I know of HID systems, it is basically a bulb and a high voltage booster pack...times 2...correct? Then again, maybe I'm a lunatic or something.
Random? Is it possible?
Thanks,
Mav
