2011 Sonata and HID's
Did you get a flasher module with your purchase?
Mine was located above the brake pedal. Turn your hazard lights on and listen for the clicking. I wonder if a new flasher module would fix the problem. It's normally for fixing hyperlinking with LED turn signals, but since the turn signals are affected here, maybe it would help? $5 @ AutoZone.

From that forum I linked before ...
First the issue:
Here is the problem.... I replaced the bulb with a new one and the issue remained. The passenger front signal remains on when the car is locked or turned off. So then I tried to switch the driver side socket with the passenger side and the issue still persisted. Any thoughts/ideas?
Then a response:
Yup, you fried your junction box. Myself, and another member on the forums had this problem also after installing HID kit. Happened to me on the same day I installed the kit. Take it to your dealer and
they'll replace the part. It took my dealer about an hour and a half to fix my car. You might or might not have to put everything back together the way it was. It depends on your dealer I guess.
So as of now this is what I think I will follow (besides warantee service is free / throwing parts at it costs $$ I don't really have right at the moment)

ah, you're right. Just take it to the dealer and have them fix it.
For the interest of the entire Hyundai community, could you ask them what was wrong, and what parts needed to be replaced? Five years down the road when some members don't have a warranty anymore, I'm CERTAIN people will be looking for the same answers to the same questions.
Unfortunately, you're an early adopter of the model so there isn't a lot of history. You could be helping dozens and dozens of people.

So you can get the dealer labor free, but only pay for the parts? Doesn't the warranty not cover any aftermarket work?
Yeah that sounds about right to me. When I had my HIDs without relay I fried the passenger side plug and as mentioned. It only gets really intense during startup, but that was enough to do it. Did you test them without the car running? That could well have blown a connection.
Just out of curiosity, the Sonata doesn't come with factory HIDs?

The only parts I am paying for are the dust caps to cover up the fact I added HID's. Easier to shrug my shoulders and play stupid to ensure they fix it under warranty.
At the very least the SE & GLS have standard halogen but use projectors to aim the light.
Majik:
No problem I will make sure I ask what they had to fix and let everyone know.

Finally got my dust caps today. Set an appointment to get it fixxed on Monday morning. Will be so glad not to have to keep unplugging / plugging the headlight.

Well after spending 3+ hours at my local Hyundai service department (which coincidentally was at the Nissan dealership) the mechanics finally had to call Hyundai service to find out it was in fact the junction box that needed to be replaced. They are ordering one for me now and hopefully I will finally get my headlight fixed on Thursday. Sounds like an assembly level repair ... troubleshoot to the component and replace the assembly.
I saw it on your facebook - sorry to hear that. Hopefully it'll be fixed ASAP. They giving you a loaner car? Ask for a Genesis - or a Turbo Sonata! Tell 'em your wife's looking for a car.
