Just because you have enough oil does not mean it is working properly. If oil is old and dirty, it loses a lot of it's viscosity as it breaks down from heat and combustion by products. In essence, it gets runny.

Try changing the oil before you do anything. If the noise continues.. take it for a half hour or so run to make sure all the old oil is out of the lifters.

I had a similar problem with my car after it sat for three weeks without being started. I had at least two VERY noisy lifters until I ran the car for a good fifteen minutes.

yea i agree. i ran royal purple full synthetic oil in my car for a long while, & usually the way it worked w/ me is during a cold start, i could hear a tapping noise (pretty loud too) & once the car warmed up the noise would either go away, or quiet down. later on during the use of full synthetic oil, it did the same thing, but instead of going away it would "slightly" decrease in noise. i then switch to regular 10w30 oil (i flushed the car too) (non-synthetic). & at first i just quieted down a whole lot, but soon went away. i don't think the pump was designed for such a thin oil & more than likely had a hard time reaching the top.
