Other Tranny's For The Beta?
An EVO VIII drivetrain on a Tib in the states would turn me on. An EVO VIII drivetrain on my Tib would give me a constant erection.
I want some rich kid to buy a Tib so we can use his money for all these tests. cool.gif

Ohh, Tripod has a tranny that fits?
LOL
It's on the Beta 2 and 2.5 over there.

As I mentioned... We HAVE a 6 speed option for the beta I. I'm not referring to the beta II

Finally, the third and perhaps most appealing option is swapping into a 6 speed manual transmission!! Yes, we have a way to do it. Mitsubishi's FTO (only available in Japan) has a 6 speed manual transmission that will bolt up to our block. Now, we don't live in a perfect world so this isn't a direct swap. You'll have to get new axles, clutch, pumps, and some other miscellaneous stuff. Changing the additional items out really bumps up the cost. The good thing is that this transmission is STRONG. Not exactly sure how much power it would hold, but it should be able to take a beating. Best thing is you won't have to rev your engine so high when you're cruising down the highway.
I don't have any exact pricing at this time, but the forged gears should run somewhere around $2500-$3500 and the 6 speed trans with everything would probably be around $4000-$5000. Shipping not included.

ok so there a re other options, but as i look i think the cheapest way is to get a beta tranny then i think.
or my scoupe tranny must fit, and i think it should... but i dont know how much power that one can handle.
anyone knows?
its from the scoupe gt turbo btw.

There is a 6-speed for the beta II and yes it is a option on the KDM GK here, but its not cheap at all there are no used ones in junkyard in all of pusan and taegu. there are new from HMC is 4800, the clutch and flywhell is 300, the change leaver and cables are 320. from what i have see they can hold the power but dut to the fact that you cant use a twin-plate clutch anything over 200 hp your clutch will slip like mad..and the other resion it so dam much its all made in japan. the tranny is not make in korea lmao.gif.. but someday i will do this SOME day.. i call the junkyard once a week. wink1.gif
i was looking for the quaife lsd but which one must i have? do you have an order# for me?
as for my clutch, im not gonna buy a different clutch, mine is going to a company who works on rally cars. and there they gonna make the clutch 50% heavier and then sinter it. and they say i wont be able to wear that one down in my life time. so ill stick with the stock clutch.

if you use the beta tranny its the lsd from an eclipse. i forget what year numbers or any of that. but try a search for quaife lsd and you should find a company with a phone number to call. or i believe blacktibs (chris, flyryde) can get one to you

I've seen an AWD tranny online, but I can't seem to find one locally.
edit.......Hmmm, maybe it was the Eclipse motor that I saw, cause it looks like the EVO tranny won't bolt up. Not even close. Notice the starter is in the front lower end. And from lookind at our block, it looks like the top two bolts are higher on ours. And the two lower ones on the EVO are stagered.
edit again....... Ugh. The Eclipse motor looks a lot closer since the starter is in the upper position, but still looks like the top two bolts are lower than ours.

with an LSD and a nice clutch, itll take all the beating you can give it.
Start making some real power and then daily drive the car, autox, drag race it, etc then reply with this comment... "itll take all the beating you can give it"
