Other Tranny's For The Beta?
hello guys.
is there any other tranny that will fit the 2.0 beta 1 engine? like a mitsu? and then from the series that the tranny is also on the right side.
andhow about the beta 2 tranny? cause the v6 has a 6 speed and it would be cool if that would fit.
i dont have a tranny yet, so that why i ask wink1.gif
thanks in advance

There IS a 6 speed transmission option for the beta I from Korea out of another car over there thats fits up perfectly. It was discussed several months ago in a clutch thread. It would be costly to do though. Like $5000 or so for shipping and install. Too expensive to really be worth it. I considered it, but the cost compared to the benefit is too great.

LOL if the beta 2 tranny did fit (and it would) what would that have to do with the v6 tranny fitting? eh?
But look whos engine bay and tranny location is remarkably similar to ours...
I heard on an evo forum a while back that the bolt pattern is pretty similar, but i havent been able to find a picture of the engine without the tranny bolted on.
Ive been pondering about a little fabrication to get the tranny to bolt on, custom front driveshafts, and a whole mess of evo conversion in the back...firedevil.gif
BUT that would just be a way to get AWD if you had a endless source of money, the beta tranny is pretty tough, with an LSD and a nice clutch, itll take all the beating you can give it. I believe bryan is still rocking a stock tranny minus the LSD and the clutchnet clutch

Ohh, Tripod has a tranny that fits?
LOL
It's on the Beta 2 and 2.5 over there.

that's sick..
haha yeah tripod sucks. i looked a litle into it and the EVO 8 engine looks remarkably similar to ours. i still bet it wouldn't be so difficult to mount it, harness it, and use a computer from it. The probelm would be the transmission and securing AWD.
also mounting it carefully would require some really custom work as well as some engineering. too much of a pain in the ass. i asked my mechanic about it... a few thousand more than the few thousand i expected.

/\ like i was saying, just use the transmission.
If you could get it to bolt up, get custom front driveshafts with a completely worked rear end, you wouldnt have to worry about fitting the 4g63 in there.
The beta is a tank, very similar to the 4g63, so theres no need to scrap that, plus you wont have to mess with the wiring.
