Engine, Intake, Exhaust Modifications to your Normally Aspirated Hyundai engine. Cold Air Intakes, Spark Plugs/wires, Cat back Exhaust...etc.

One more stupid topic and I'm going to leave.

Yaay! Two-tier SR! That wouldn;t fly, because NOBODY would "waste" time responding to the "useless" topics, and eventually the newbies would invade the advanced forums.

Compile a FAQ. HAVE EVERYONE read it before becoming a member (not like microsoft's BS product agreements...)

Thats a good idea Jed, maybe we could make it work another way with what we already have. Maybe a Forums search option could be introduced to like kinda "sense" ketwords like "smartPlugs" or "Turbo Zet" and "NOS" and just pop up if you want to post about the topic and have a "newbie" rating? It could llike say "Information already exists, would you like to view ALL avalible information on this topic?" And if the guy clicks yes he gets bombarded with everything at one go.

Who knows, could work.

Cheuk:

There is only one way to "fix' the problem, and that is with cold, hard facts, proven physics and proven application, unbiased evaluation of a new product no matter how ricey, and acceptance by others about the findings of these inquiries. If we run from board to board to get away from the Rice, then the Rice will eventually catch up, and we'll have nowhere else to run. Come to think of it, the Rice seldom came to HP.com, because Autobot and everyone else had a tendency to crucify it upon arrival! This is what I'm getting at man, we don't run from the rice, we RUN IT DOWN with raw proven data and race-proven applications. Guess that would be your cup of tea. The only way to beat the problem is to make it known to the masses that the product don't work, supply the facts and whoever wants to buy a boatload of Uncle Ben's can do just that on their individual call and let the rest of us know if it really does the job or not.

While I don't want this becoming a ricer forum either, I do remember a time when the "snake-oil" products intrigued me and it was only the help of the more experienced members that set me straight. That was over two years ago, and thankfully I don't think I've deviated since then.

Cheuk, I for one value your inputs greatly. Whether directly or indirectly, discussions you participated in helped me get my turbo project to the point it is today (a bunch of parts in my basement smile.gif ). For you and the rest of the "advanced" members, I can only say this: give the "bad" topics a once over, explain why the product is bunk, and then never read it again and go onto the "How do variable discharge turbos work?", et al.

that's it. my 2 cents,
ac

How about if the moderators just lock/redirect useless posts?

I agree with Hootie. We need some Nazi moderators.

HMMMM What about THE FACT THE SOME OF ACTUALLY PAID FOR OUR MEMBERSHIP...

Damnint I hardly even read anything in the body or sterio area because it dosent intrest me..
Does it make me go faster.. NOPE

I have asked some Stupid question (red, random and cheuk will attest to that) But at least they were viable questions.

Maby the engine fourum that is FOR PAID MEMBERS ONLY. IF you can't afford 25 bucks because you bought Nozzle lights then its a good way to seperate the groups.

People have started to refer to those that are "Anti rice" as the FnF haters..

Well yes we are... I swear If I see one more STOCK POS (Insert car here) with a HUGE ASS WING IM GONNA JUMP OUT AND BEAT THEM.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR P1ssses me off that we have now gone to the level of some of the most gifted Tuners are frustrated with lack of searching done by they new people..

I think that if they leave you will see alot of people follow them to where ever they go...

Cant we all just get along?
I understood this board to be for everyone that's interested in cars, heck we even had Honda drivers in the discussions.
I not encouraging anyone to leave,(or stay for that matter)I just think as mature adults we can get through this. (this is more than I've posted all last month) wink

Excuse me ... there is one fact here that escapes me. Just what exactly is 'rice' ... and who appointed Cheuk, Red, or anyone for that matter, the high exhulted one to determine just what 'rice' is? I don't give a god damn how smart someone thinks they are, it still doesn't give them free reign to judge a person or their car and what may be installed on it.

JUDGE NOT LEST YE BE JUDGED YOURSELF

FYI .. I have been hanging around FocalJet for some time now. They do their best not allow the term 'rice' be used on their board. Their goal is to display a level of professionalism for the manufacturer reps that are always present there, and they damn sure are successful at it.
I am fairly new to posting on message boards but I have been reading them for about a year.

I got pretty much all of my information from this board, and I thank everyone that has replied to my posts.

What I don't understand is this trend of calling other people's cars "rice". If someone has a 5 foot wing on their car and neon lights, let him/her be. Maybe they aren't interested in performance.

Is it really necessary to label these people? Can't we just say, "sorry man, I don't like it". Instead of, "JESUS YOU ARE SO RICE!". I agree with Digital in banning this word, simply because it is a form of stereotyping which is unnecessary.

I feel you. Sometimes you don't see me post here for days, and I'm a WHORE! It's just silly, these parts have been proven, even DYNO proven to be just about fackin worthless, and yet the 16 year olds with bobble headed figures on their dash still want one.

Why do they ask for info about them?

Well, I think to try to show that they think they found something new, or are doing a "Mod" that they think is rare and worthy.

Why do we flame them and just stop answering them?

Because we are tired, and see this once or twice a month.

I joined up here in January I think, member 12 hundred something, and they are at 1800 (Board member #) something now. So many new people are coming that they don't know what's been covered and don't know the results.

Why else do we get asked once a week about which CAI, and "What about the Weapon R intake?" Or, "Can I get 326 HP out of my Stock Pony?" (LOL)

What can we do about it?

Well, I think that the FAQ and DIY sections we've talked about here NUMEROUS times would make a big difference. Someone asks a stupid question, the thread gets locked or deleted and the FAQ gets refrenced to them.

Will it happen?

No. The T-Shirt and MANY MANY MANY other threads that have had valid questions, by paid members, that were posted in the CORRECT forum sections, were all ignored by the decision makers here.

This too will get ignored, the ricing/ignorance will get worse, and they techy tech guys will get pushed away by sheer stupidity.

Anyone else on the edge of asking for a Membership refund after the stuff going on lately?

Valid or correctly placed threads closed or deleted with no word about it.

Valid posts or information being deleted or edited without a word about that?

Misdirection on this site and SR about when products that we want will be available and the very spotty newsletters?

I dunno. I get so much help here, good and bad opinions (I'm gettin those MP3 Rims damnit!), tech support, respect for some projects, and some people here just want to "Bring rice" all day long. You folks are fun to say the least, but I too have quickly tired of some of the happenings of late. I want to stick around, get the good products that are sure to be high quality.

I'd also like to mod my car with these things before it's got as many miles as my 93 Excel...

Just my .02 ...

Once again a thread has gone completely off topic to the original post.
