Default One more stupid topic and I'm going to leave.

If I see another e-Ram, turbo jet, air pump, leaf blower, four hamster running in a exercise wheel.... compressor idea for a turbo / supercharger posted on this PERFORMANCE modification section .... I'm leaving.

I HATE RICERS. The Hyundai group was a little different because we knew our cars were slow to begin with but we wanted to make the tibby / accent / avante / elantra / scoupe faster to ambush the RICER HONDAS. If this forum turns in a Hyundai RICER board, I'm gone.

Sorry but I'm starting to notice a trend.

BTW, I will be in LA and Las Vegas next week trying to meet all the performance manufacturers that I order from.

Don't leave! There's nothing wrong about the E-ram, Tornado, Turbo Zet, et. al. They just don't work right. Why get mad? They're good on theory and people are wondering if they would work. That's nothing to be mad about. That does'nt mean that the people in this forum are becoming Ricers.

The reason people ask about different new things is because there are some very intelligent members that have a better sence about things than say myself.

If something is new, I'd rather hear what everyone else thinks before I spend my money on something. That's kinda the point of this forum.

No one is trying to upset anyone though.

Your sensitive Cheuk.

The underlying reason behind this forum is to exchange ideas and answer questions. If someone finds a aftermarket innovation that claims to improve performance, this is the perfect place to analyze it.

No, I'm right there with you. I tell you what, you let me know via email the day you leave, and I'll go to.

I've become almost physically sick of the sheer magnitude of stupidity that I read sometimes. If HALF of these posts were put into one of the Honda technical forums, the people would have been flamed until they were crispy black charcoal remnant of their former selves.

Idiots drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. So be it, I really don't care. So long as I'm still allowed to hit you up occasionally for uber-rare parts sourcing help, then I'm happy smile.gif

Ahh, but where would we idiots be without the intelligent people around to flame-broil us into crispy goodness?

I for one don't mind being flamed on technical issues--I tend to go in strong with my beliefs but am quite willing to be dissuaded with a good technical argument. I have noticed, however, that a large number of people on internet forums are pussies and can't take an intellectual thrashing without crying to mommy. Christ, I'm the first person to say I'm not perfect, other people proving it isn't a big deal.

Hell, I say stay and flame away, at the very least it's a good way to relieve stress---if you're doing it right. My job is highly specialized and technical(though completely different than automotive processes, it's large-scale manufacturing stuff), I run into this all the time trying to explain to clients how the system is supposed to work and why the 'great idea' they came up with just can't happen. It's easy to get caught up in it all and get stressed when seemingly surrounded by idiocy.

Fact is though, it feels good to enlighten people. At least to me. Knowledge is one of the few things that is truly immortal. Even if only one person understands something out of some huge, detailed sermon I've given, the knowledge and understanding will go forth from there and help to dispel the myths and lies. Sounds all noble and crap but you just can't focus on the negative. Some people are idiots and you have to let it go...even if you are replying to them, in an open forum the information reaches many more people than just them.

Sure, it's frustrating because people post wrong answers and there just isn't enough time in the day to respond to everything that you see. But if you consistently present a concise, reasonable viewpoint you gain a reputation that can rise beyond the static, and even though you may post less often the more discerning amongst the audience will use this to base their future advice on.

So, uh, what was my point? Hmmm....how about: Don't let the idiots get to you, we simply haven't been exposed to enough truth yet wink

Hey at least they DID ask before they just threw it on there. And yes, any other board would make them run back to their "crew" and tell them how so-and-so board is gay and knows nothing about cars.
