Okay, clutch was replaced about 1,000 miles ago. But I have had this problem before then and still do....

When I drive on the streets/neighborhoods, I drive like a normal person, speed limit. Even if I let my RPM's get to 5k+ or so I can shift 1-2 and 2-3 perfect, even if I do it 'quick'.

But when I am getting on it, say on the highway and I just wanna haul ass to 65 or whatever the speed limit is.. I friking grind almost everytime! (usually from 1-2 and somtimes from 2-3) Ive even made sure my foot is all the way in on the clutch before I shift(slow, quick, fast, whichever way i shift) and it still f***ing grinds. So its just right after Ive got the gas pedal to the ground.

Let me know what you think.

Yeah, we had to drain it and refill it when we did my clutch.

Think I should take it to a shop what specializes in tranny's and have them see what it is?

Hmm... mine doesn't grind. I think it actually goes in gear better at redline then 2500RPM LOL.

what kind of clutch did you replace the old one with?

what kind of fluid did you put in?

did you have this problem with others vehicles you have driven in the past?

I just noticed mk3's was 1-2 and sometimes 2-3, mines the exact opposite... 2-3 often, and very rarely 1-2.

mk3- just out of curiousity, does it sometimes just not let you into the gear at all? occasionally for me it feels like the shifter hit a wall and will not grind, but will not go into 3rd position either... usually grinds tho

throw some redline in it or royalpurple or whatever
its your fluid that does it
get rid of the gl4 and try some better stuff.
that will probably fix both of your cars.

or take it to a specialist first so they can do it and charge u for your right nut.
