Dude if its the HLA's you can just go to the pick and pull in auburn and grab a head off of one of the ~10 elantras & tibs there, new headgasket and a day's work gone by, and your cars back to normal. Maybe costing you 100 bucks total even including the beer.
And then you can buy the HLA's from SFR and sell the head or get P/P work done to it.
Can't be defeated so easily bro.
Ill even come out there and work for free if you just pay some of what you owe me from before. lmao.gif

If you have a big loss of power/stalling issue then it is likely something on the inside of your engine that is wrong. It could be your head gasket - do another compression test.
you could part out your car, but honestly you'll feel better if you fix it.

Do I have to take cams out to get the head off?Just want to know everything before I start this.
pretty much believe its the lifters, when i pressed down on them almost all them went down a little and not suppose to.
so i can get a head from junk yard cheap instead of buying lifter kit.

well i was actually talking about the oil filter not providing adequate filtration basically "starving" the engine of oil causing noises amoungst the moving parts (not just in the bottom end). check HMAservice for a TSB on "use of aftermarket engine oil filter causing engine knocking noise".
just think the oil is being pumped upwards so while everything may be A-OK on the bottom end, not all of the oil might not be making it's way to the top of the head.
i know another member had this problem and the oil filter was the problem; search for "ticking" or "knocking".
it's cheaper than a head and (to me) worth a try!
