My Engine
Ok the manifold bolts are on tight.
nothing dropped into turbo its been making this noise, but now it is 100xs worse.
The car wont go at all really, when im driving and push in clutch coming to light it stalls and has hard time to start back up.
When it starts and car goes it has no power at all to get to speed limit, sluggish like carzy.
I tried the hose thing couldnt hear anything in engine im haveing my dad do it again later ,hes better at it.
It sounds like now something is binging inside the engine like crazy not just ticking anymore, something must of broke on the inside.
also car is overheating like carzy cause of this, and my rad fans are working.
also yes checked oil level after putting it in.
Im pist i think i might need an engine
also this was vipers old engine has tigrelly pistons in it.
its not the dipstick neither checked that

I still say it is something simple, if the turbo to manifold is leaking exhaust is will cause the loss in boost and cause the ticking and the hot exhaust blowing on the radiator will cause it to overheat.
But this is the internet and without the car in front of me everything is a guess.

Yea u mighta thorwn a rod/ spun a bearing. That sucks ass.
I believe Ericy had a 2.0 block he was sellin for 200, id get into touch w him to see if he's still got it. Ull b able to use it to replace ur blown one, and u can put the pistons from ur motor in there..u may need to bore it out dpending on which 1 was in there.
that really sucks dude. if u spun a bearing, be sure to get that crank reground.
its unusual, i dont hear of this sorta thing happening a lot.

I dont know a whole lot about mechanics, but I remember when I had my mustang it all of a sudden went sluggish on me, I would put the pedal to the floor and she hardly moved, turned out it was the timing belt. Maybe thats what it is?
Ok I took valve cover to check didnt see anything wrong.
Thing sounds like its coming from lower.
Didi compression check not sure if i did it right first time.
I took a plug out put gauge in and started the car 4thcylinder 125,3rd125,2nd100,1st100
i know that not right now i do have tigrelly pistons in there lower it to 8.5.1 any suggestions

Yea Tim is right about the head gasket. That very well could be it, but i dont know enough to say that it would cause the noise ur hearing. I have heard of head gasket falure under our boosted applications. Have you been running unually high boost lately? Cranked it up once or twice? Ive never had a head gasket go out on me before so i dont kno what exactly the symptoms would be. From what i've seen on a few other cars (specifically a celica and a f150) when they go out you'll notice a definite white cloud coming out of your exhaust. I dont know though if on the tib it is definate. On those other cars ive seen it on though...it was a pouring white cloud.
I feel bad making all these suggestions of what it could be, and you having no luck tracking it down. Im anxious (as im sure u are) to find out what the problem is.

Hey deestibo, I agree with Tim it is most probably something easy than a broken engine... specially since your car was running perfect till you made the last repairs with the head gasket...
mmmmmm..... turbo gasket to manifold... 100% sure it's not leaking? It's easy to find out, you could do it with your hand... (of course with the engine started cold or else you'll burn your hand)
Have you checked your oil (does it have traces of water?) and also have you checked manifold, downpipe, and exhaust for cracks?
I think I was mistaken first, but you didn't pull your head off, just the exhaust gasket on the head right? Are you sure you checked the torque on nuts there cold and warm? (Chances are you did because you seem to know your way with cars, but still a good idea to ask).
Hopefully more guys are going in here to help out dude, just be pacience and lets hope it's the easiest thing and not the worse.

The amount of water is not always enough to generate vapors to be seen... if the blown section is small you won't notice it until it grows... however, the problem seems to be in the head right?
Have you tried to start engine and slowly rev it till 2000rpm for a little while... if the noise lowers then chances are it's oil puimp, if not it could be as your father sais a lifter that got clogged empty, and is not recharging... If you want to discard that option you can take them out, wash them with warm fresh oil, or gasoline and then let them dry and then submerge them in oil...
if it's lifters that should take care of it...
do you have installed camshaft sprockets? Something else that could be generating the noise?
