NOOOO... the filter goes down and around and behind the drivers side of the front bumper... right behind where the fog light would be. I have the same intake. Hey canadianshark... what color of paint did you use man... i cant find anything to match, mine is off a few shades of red

EDIT: oh and canadianshark... what kind of spark plug wires are those mang... i am looking for some

I use Duplicolour MetalCast Red, and my spark plug wires are Magnecore.

Oh and if you buy a new AEM intake it comes with instructions! and they are not hard to follow, should take no more than 1.5hrs with the right tools. and a couple of coronas, right? redz.

Just installed it today, aem intake, took about 2hrs. Only really pain in the ass was the cutting of the lining and that wasnt all that bad. And the new ones do come with instructions which is nice. smile.gif Took it out for a test drive and i'm really happy with it.
