I'm saving up to getting Importshark's Spec1 Stage1 clutch. I was wondering if I should go with a light wieght flywheel as well? The thing that's wavering my decission is that the flywheel costs more than the clutch. What should I do?

 

They have chromoly flywheels on ebay that are cheaper than fidanza, still lighter then stock

 

i say if your going to do it, do it right get the lightned fly wheel.

 

Uhm, stay AWAY from Spec clutches if I remember correctly.

Why not just get a VHR setup from Airborne for like $500 and get the clutch, flywheel, and a new pressure plate.

 

I have read were people had issues with the SPEC clutches, that's one of the reasons I added clutchmasters and soon fidanza, but out of the 23 SPEC units I have sold in the past year I have heard anything.

Oh man let me tell you... xxxmonoxidechild's blue tibby,,, he had to put 2 spec clutches in it. the first one was a stage two, and it went bad.. for the troubles he had he recieved the stage 3 instead of the stage 2, and within a year the pressure plate was f***ed and the car took about 20 seconds to engage any gear but first.. and His car and my car both have fidanza flywheels... For one if you have to do another clutch, fidanza's have removable friction surfaces, and for 100 bucks you get 2 brand new friction surfaces, not to mention a bad ass sticker. Trust me man the fidanza is the way to go. Shit I paid 75 brand new for mine on ebay never opened.. I have a 97 and it was for a 2nd gen tib, I had them machine the crank hole from 35mm to 41mm, they even took into consideration that it was .0041 off, and they bored it to 41.0041.... and it was perfect, so they are interchangable to a sense. Dont mess with anything but a south bend DXD clutch and a fidanza man... No doubt the way to go.. Look it up, I know this from expirience with 2 different tiburons, a first gen and second.


Fidanzas also make traction in the snow and wet... hell.

 

XXXmonoxide did have alot to say about the spec clutch the one time I went up there to get my Airram installed.

Definately, not a happy customer.

 

Yea dude, that pressure plate the fingers were warped... I seriously wonder if those clutches are made in autistic children's homes.

 

SPEC can eat my testicles......


go with a south bend clutch, u wont be dis-appointed
