QUOTE (calmb4dastorm13 @ Apr 1 2006, 12:21 PM)
I'm going to look into that South Bend clutch. On there website they only list '97-'98 and '03-05. Is there a differance between the '97, '98, and '99? I know that there wee originally two engine sizes (1.8l and 2.0l) and that all '99 are 2.0l; am I missing something?

they work fine, i had mine installed in my 2000 tibby. there is no difference.

I think they are all swapable if not the same. Cause you can use 1.8 flywheel in 2.0 engine.

that is slightly wrong however. the earlier 1.8's had a larger diameter center hole. you can machine the newer 2.0 fidanza to fit the older 1.8's at a machine shop. typical cost is about 25-50 bux for the machine work

i'm gonna Need a Clutch pretty Soon so while the tranny is out i was thinking about buying a flyhweel to i've look a few clutc kit and i know there is the VHR one a 800$ on kspec with a flywheel include by reading i've seen that the VHR flyhweel is lightweight .... so that nice i'm bretty shure the VHR would be cheaper than Any clutch kit + buying a fidanza flywheel or another on ebay....

what i was wondering... is that the VHR clutch kit is rated for like 350hp.... my engine is still stock ... i will modify it with time... is it wort it to buy that for the futur ? and with a stock engine what would be the advantage/disadvantage of having a lightweight flywheel

i was wondering to is this clutch still usable for street use rolling around the city i mean can it slip a little or it's on/off like a Race clutch

if this kit is to much for me for right now what would you recomand ? because i wouldn't want to change the clutch again next year or in 2 year 02.gif

thx all

Before anyone else get's to bag on you, I'll let you in on a little secret. (not that I'm a great example. lol) Read the entire thread. Best bet (normally) is to read the entire thread and search button.

Anyway, (overview) from waht's been said here: The VHR set-up is a good buy. Completly ready for instal; however, a southbend clutch (bottom end) will run you about $180ish and I've found a fidenza flywheel for about $360. Where? Can't remember. Sorry. I'll research it when I can. All together- $640; Also, (according to Redz) airborne (a member of RDtiburon.com) can get the VHR set-up for about $500 shipped.

I hope this helps a little. Welcome to the club. Tiburons all the way!!

I've got the VHRs for $575 shipped. Check out the GB forum on the VHRs and look at the feedback from the people that got it.
