Personally, the only reason I would get one is if the 1.8L Beta doesn't have that flat spot in the HP/Torque Curve that 2.0L Betas have. If it has any benefits fuel/timing wise, it would probably be negligible in comparison to a fuel management (SMT-6) and timing device (MSD).

The progress is this.
1. You are an ass. wink1.gif
2. I've had the 1.8L Ecu installed for what, 3 months now? Not one issue.
3. Still the best overall mod I've done to my car.
4. Shaddoh has stopped posting here for somereason and it doesn't look like he's going to get dyno's like he promised.
The deal is...
1. Get a 1998 Elantra 1.8l ECU, make sure you don't get the TRANNY ECU on accident.
2. Don't get the REV A ecu from a 97 Tib, you'll get a CEL.
3. Don't PM me asking how to get the ECU's out and where to get one. It's all been posted. Look around.

I'm sure it wouldn't cause any problems, I'm just curious as to where the power improvements are. I despise the flat spot from 3500-4500 that Tibs have, and if it gets rid of that flat spot like the new 03-05 I4 Tibs do (Check a 2001 AEM dyno, then a 2004 AEM I4 dyno... you'll see what I'm talkin 'bout) then I might actually give it a try.

The power improvments?
Let's just say that there is no bogging anywhere, and from 3K to redline, it pulls VERY nicely.
No flat spots.

Was that the auto or manual ecu? Would it make any diff?
No difference. The Tranny ECU is the difference for Tranny's.

Nope, nothing else to do.
Try clicking on search.
Put in...
1.8L ECU
Or ECU SWAP
or aftermarket ECU
Or 1.8L*
Or you can ask here. What do you want to know?
