Would there be any point in using this ECU if I were fitting a piggyback Dastek unichip aswell?

No, considering that the unichip is already going to be programmed to provide better fuel/timing curves for your specific application than just a stock 1.8L ecu. At least it should be.

Okay so this ECU is for standard compression ratio and cams up to 232°!
