Pretty sure you don't want anything to do with the first one listed for the 97 elantra, unless that's just a stock pic. It looks nothing like our ecu's.
edit: that's a transmission computer. Definitely not what you want. wink1.gif Your safest bet is to keep looking and hunt down one of the good ones listed on the first page. Search junk yards and whatnot. I ended up finding mine through car-part.com

well on the first page there's is only 1 number i see that could be the best one....
but what about other...
acording to what i'm reading 39110-23900 would be a 96 lantra so a rev B ??
could someone update first post or make a reaply with all the good ecu number and not having info scattered around

^You found it? I'm pretty sure I'm the one who spotted the correct Elantra to pull it from!
It's easy to find them, just gotta remember the date range of the correct ECU, then find an Elantra that was made within that range. That's how I found it, by looking at the date on the door.

i know there is kind of a rumor that elantra had a speed limiter at 180km/h and i search a bit on the web and didn't really find anything to confirm or else the info so wanted to know if anyone here have a straith anwser on this ?

i just picked me up a 23940 today and installed it. i ripped out 7 at the junk and it was easy but when it came to mine it was harder for some reason? but, the engine idle is smoother and the gas pedal is a little lighter. i might go to the tracks this friday to test it out. but for some reason i'm running leanner with the 1.8 ecu?
