^Im kinda confused on what you mean by that man. I was just explaining to the guy about what I had on my Nissan etc. not telling him how to mod his car.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Osv4 @ Sep 2 2006, 10:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>This is hard to believe..was the 200sx modded at all? Cos ive got a friend thats crying about 200sx and as i showed him this post he said it is totally impossible</div>
Why's that so hard to believe? The nissan 200sx that selina had was the 1.6L pushing 115hp and 110ftlbs torque. So the tib blows that 200sx out of the water.
And if hes trying to say that there is no way that the tib is better than the SE-R hows this:
The 1997 200sx SE-R has 140hp and 133ft*lbs. The exact same specs as the 2.0L tib at the <u>exact</u> same RPMs. But the 200sx is around 50lbs heavier, which is why its quoted at 16.1 seconds in the 1/4, 0.1 seconds slower than the 2.0L tiburon is quoted at. Safe to say, stock for stock, it would be about as much of a driver's race as possible.

my dad gives me crap about putting more money into an old car too. haha but when you tint the windows drop the car and throw 17' curb wanted rims on it i don't think any 80 year old dad will like it wink1.gif
my friends who hate my car either 1. don't have cars 2. don't say anything because secretly they know it's nice 3. they're still trying to figure out something bad to say about it 4. don't have cars
zoned said it's ignorance, it's also jealousy.

The 200SX that all the 'tuner' kids are accustomed to here in Oz are SR-20DET engined, which will beat a Tib hands down, but it is a boring car that every man and his dog has put a set of 19 inch Chromies on and carbon bonnet. Drifting is taking off here in Oz and 200SX's, 180SX, Siliva's and Sklines are now all the rage thanks to this new drift culture, our local import magazines are flooded with every Nissan product on the market.
Personally I have never heard of a 200SX with a 1.6, lol. I was under the impression tha '200' stood for 2.0L (SR-20DET) and 180SX 1.8L (CA18DE & CA18DET).

From what I know the SR20DET engine with 8 psi puts down 220 hp..which is pretty much like a tib putting down 8 psi. Of course a DET engine will beat a stock tib but if their both turboed I believe itd be a close race.
Yea, here in the states the 200SX also had a 1.6L version. It was just like the Sentra, except 2 door and a little shorter in length. I believe that the 200's that you guys have in Australia are the 240's we have here, so thats also a difference.
I used to love DET engines, but the popularity got out of control and even though I know a lot about it its not a big thing for me anymore. I rather put more energy into learning about the Beta..an engine thats not super duper popular.

Definatly must have been an american only thing, all 200's here are SR20'd. The only 240 I heard of here was a Datsun 240SX, which was a E-Type jag rip-off, with a 2.4 N/A Carb engine.
Yeah, the popularity of the 200SX and Skylines etc. are killing them, they are so common here it is boring. To go to Autosalon or a Car show that caters for 4's, is just like a episode of the Flinstones where Fred is running and the same scenery keeps returning.
Tib's drew me in due to their originality, very few are modding them and everyone writes them off for simply being a Hyundai. It feels great when you give some jerk in a Nissan Pulsar, Suzuki GTi or Honda a good run and surprise them.

^ yeah well Aust_rd is right..the 200sx is 2.0L turbo..it would smoke a stock Tib into pieces lol.
But as he said they r just too common along with WRXs and Skylines. Thats why i picked a Tib, its something different..It just that the name "Hyundai" thats bringing it down..So unless uve got a modded engine (which i dont have) you just have to cope all the crap from others with 200sxs and skylines..but if i can get a turbo in my Tibby i might surprise them lmao.gif I would love the look on the guys face when a Tib smokes him..haha
