My Order For Two 60mm Bbtbs, What A Mess!
Well I thought I would make a p[ost for this so everyone can see what is going on.
I ordered two 60mm System Upgrade BBTB and a set of clear corners from SFR a while back. I received my order and much to my horror one of my BBTB was missing! I immediately callled Korea and talked with someone about this and they said sometimes they ship in seperate smaller boxes to clear through customs easier. This seemed strange as my clrea corners came in one small box and my BBTB came in a box big enough for two BBTBs, however we agreed to wait another week and see what surfaced. Nothng ever came to my house so I again called Korea and spoke to someone and they said not to worry they would send another first thing in the morning. I thought wow awesome, thats great service.
Fast forward to today and I receive my other BBTB finally. I open it immediately for inspection. What the heelll is this? It has dings and grooves where the nuts were already installed once. The $20.00 extra optional cruise control was sandblasted and they left a lot of the old paint on there. The sad thing was the rest of it was left bare steel. That will rust up instantly, thanks. The lettering on the TB and pulley are filthy, the screws for the butterfly are chewed up, and there are initials engraved on the 'block' above the opening. Worst of all it was all gone over with a permanent marker to cover it up, like nobody would notice all that! I checked the serial number on the box and it of course did not match up to the serial number on the BBTB. I was curious to why this one was silver inside and my other 'new' one was black and then I realized that this BBTB does not have the step down in it like the other had. I guess I should meaure it...guess what? Yes, 2 5/8-inch (67mm)! UGHHH!
I wrote SFR an e-mail and explained to them that I got a used unit and they said noway possible. I told them if I wanted a used BBTB I'd pick one up on here (or eBay) for $150-200.00.
They replied:
"First of all, that BBTB is never used.. I do not understand why you
thought that was used.
No no I swear it was never used .. this came right from System Upgrade
and again it was never used."
There were SFR stickers under the TB in the box so I know they had to open it at the very least, odds are they had to take it out of the box to get the stickers under it, as it had so much bubble wrap around it it could not rotate around during shipping.
Here are the pictures, they speak for themselves.

Since they did not believe me, I just e-mailed them my findings and am awaiting thier response...
Wouldn't you be pissed if you paid $300.00 for this and had to wait 6+ weeks for it and still got the wrong one?
If it were 63mm or smaller I'd run it, however 67mm on a N/A 2.0L is a bit extreme.
I wish I could get a 62mm BBTB one of these...

There is nothing odd about that at all, it happens all the time.

Hmm, I see what you are saying in the pictures, that one has definately been mounted. Perhaps System mounted it on an engine at their shop, or we did at ours over there, I don't know but will find out. Things DO happen, you may have been sent a wrong one, I don't know. We DO sell used parts, but they are listed separately on the site.

Ehh, I don't see anything sandblasted in those pictures. There's the system throttle rotor (round), with a OEM rotor under it so you can run two cables. The OEM one is the silverish colored one in those pics. What do you mean "old paint"?

The TB looks like it's coated, and pretty well to me. What's going to rust up, the OEM rotor on there? I doubt it, I've never seen one rust yet. The other things, are definitely problems and I'll make sure we take care of this immediately. I'm thinking that someone sent you the wrong box.
No reason to email, and no reason for either side to get snippy or rude, mistakes happen, and it'll be fixed. let me work my magic please.
To those of you who never dealt with us do not deserve to say any negative things about us, so please do not even bother post things like customer service and etc.
We are known to have the best Customer service on Newtiburon.com and Ebay Korean stores...
yes things could happen during the shipping internally and backed up orders we admit that, but we always try to fix the problems right away.
We are really sorry for the missing order.. one of our packaging guy made a mistake..
However, we acted right aways when you phoned us and sent you a replacement right away
I know it did take about 6weeks to get everything but we did try to fix the problem and sent you a missing order right away, so I assume that you only have problems with our product than our customer service.
Now, I want to talk about the BBTB you claimed that is used.
I've got an email from you but since you posted up here I will just reply it here.
Seems like you do not trust us when I did get back to you saying they are new.
Wrong.. if they were used it should have been on our used section like these products on our store

We happened to have new BBTBs for New tiburon in stock so I took some pictures.

Looks familiar?
1. white mark... you know these BBTBs are bored up so they need larger circle rings (I would call) in there.. so they need to be laser cut and white marks are usually there on most of BBTBs.
2. defective CC unit... yes they could be used since they are off from stock OEM unit to add cc unit.
CC unit with aftermarket BBTB was never available till Redz showed us an idea to add CC unit to an aftermarket BBTB.. so we tell "system uprade" to add CC unit when we order and they take the unit off from OEM throttle body so yes they could be used..
3. drilled hole... As you all know New tiburon(2005+ VVT models) and RD tiburons have different holes to fit but bascially the same design. Only thing you need to modifiy to adapt 2005+VVTmodel's BBTB is drill the hole. As a manufacture, System upgrade do not make any of RD tiburon BBTBs anymore since none buys in Korea and decided to modify F/L 2005+ VVT model ones. That's why you see the drilled marks there.
Well.. I hope this gives all the answers to that but if you still do not trust us feel free to return all the parts back to Korean office and get the full refund for it. All of our NEW BBTBs will may look USED to you again, so you shouldn't try to order them in the future as well.
Feel free to contact us either PM or email
Thanks

You missed the whole point of his pictures. He's not talking about the ring in the middle being discolored he's talking about right around the hole for screws to attach to the intake manifold. If you look at them you can see that it looks like it has been screwed onto another intake manifold already.
Also, you forgot to address the problem with it being the wrong size.
BTW, it wasn't a stab at you just Korean customer service in general. It's a lot different than here in the US. Like a business here in the US would have never made that last statement you just made in your last paragraph of that post(I wish they would grow the balls like you to do it though). I've been dealing with Korean cust service at one time or other throughout my entire life and there really is a difference.
