Hmm...does anyone have numbers on either one?

I remember a post a while ago with approximate numbers for each cam. Can't find it now.

I'd go with the 270 cam if I knew that wouldn't hurt my daily driver.

I believe the XD/GT intake cam was like 240, as opposed to the stock 232 intake w/ 240 exhaust. I could be wrong.

a little offtopic.gif sorry: The difference is like 7 to 8 HP of the 1.8 and XD/GT cam

These CAMS would be an excellent Upgrade.... You will need an ECU tuning or StandAlone so you can squeeze out the most HP gains......

1.8L cam will not give you 8whp. 2-4at best.

With proper tuning you should be able to get anywhere from 10-20whp from those cams. You will lose low end torque and will be reving your engine higher, but it will be worth it if you drag race.

Raising the rev limiter is a must because powerband will be shifter a lot higher.

Just for info:

2.0 Beta1
Intake: 228° Duration Lift 44.049
Exhaust: 240° Duration Lift 45.049

1.8 Beta1
Intake: 232° Duration Lift 44.449
Exhaust: 240° Duration Lift 45.049

2.0 Beta2
Intake: 232° Duration Lift 44.820
Exhaust: 236° Duration Lift 44.720

So, that's why the Beta1 exhaust Cam and Beta11.8 intake Cam are the best combo for near OEM driveability, you get the most duration and lift on each in and ex. The XG/GT cam has a little more lift, but the issues regarding cam position sensor have never been cleared/denied with facts.

Jumping from 232° to 270° would be quite a big jump, I don't think ECU would work well with them, at least it would not take all the juice from them.

Q: Can you work this camshafts as with OEM ones? I ask because some people suggested to put adjustable cam sprockets, but them being hollowed and synthered could affect that?

raising the idle is one of the ways to adjust the car to the new cam, but with real tune you wouldn't even have to do that.

For those of you who plan on revving over 7k rpms, consider upgrading your valvetrain.

Believe me, there's no way you could get Denis' car idling at 750rpm with those cams, even with "real tune". There's only so much you can do (ie, fuel and timing), and we sure already tried that route as we have more means to do that than most poeple here (ie, SMT6 and modified ECU).
