First, GF with a Tib. Awesome. I was in no way saying that the weather was attributed to the difference, unless you took one at 30 degrees and another at 100 degrees and humid. Since its 4 days apart, I doubt the environment had little effect on it.

I really don't see it making much difference over the MBRP performance wise. 2.5inch mandrel is 2.5inch mandrel. Unless the muffler is a better design, but that wouldn't equate to humongous gains. Did it follow the same route as the MBRP? Bends wise...

Its probably going to feel huge compared to her stock car... and yes the car having 100k on it makes a diff. Maybe you could get overhaul her engine for a b-day present tongue.gif

Off topic... you used a digital camera to record it? I have to find something to upload sounds to the web... anything anyone know of that can record and has the software to turn the file into .mp3, etc.?

the apexi exhaust comes out at an angle, supposedly providing a more straight shot for exhaust gases. the mbrp points straight out, and therefeore needs that last bend to be of higher degree.

Isn't the MBRP 2.25"? 2.5" would give 1.23 times more cross sectional area for exhaust to flow over 2.25". That extra space can definately be helpful at higher rpm's, where the peak power is. The bends can also be designed at better angles, and better material used keeping the heat in (and therefore exhaust velocity).

Also, got my active silencer today, I'm all giddy wink1.gif

GK MBRP is 2.25... but I've heard numerous times that the RD one is 2.5. Both are made of stainless steel, mandrel. Only way it would produce more power is a better muffler (very little) or better angles (have to be really different for more power).

Apexi has a different route... it doesn't have the same bends. Please look at the design.

You have to understand, the only reason anyone even thought this was for an RD was the fact that it said Tiburon, and it had a 3 bolt flange on the Cat side. I thought it was for a different car at first, the hangers are long as hell, and sit all cockeyed. Plus the bend is way different, it goes to the left and bottom of the axle, whereas the other exhausts we've seen, are always over the axle, with a huge ass bend right to the muffler. Like mentioned above it sits angled which cancels out yet another bend in the exhaust flow. I took pics of both side by side. I'll post em.
