so you went out and got a tiburon afterall? i can't believe it. good choice with the 16/45's, bet the handling and ride quality are much better than rubber bands.
how did you get that strut bar to fit?
and yeah that camber looks incredibly out! are you sure about that? are you afraid for the bearings?

Thanks, yeah they are a bit meaty tire wise, looks like it should be AWD.
What do you mean? I have been a tiburon owner for 5 years.
To make the front strut bar fit, I modified the black strut mounts, just cut a section out, and folded up the bolt area, welded it all back together. Then, I slotted the mounting holes vertically to allow me to fine tune the location of the bars height. Next I ground out the underneath section right where the peak of the Airram is to allow clearance, then I filled in the hollow section that was exposed from the grinding/sanding with my new TIG welder.
I originally had ground down the top where the hood bracing was contacting it, but my new CF hood had those sections already removed so top clearance wasn't an issue.
Everyone asks me how I got that bar to fit with the airram, lol.
The camber has to be that extreme to allow wheel/fender clearance (unless I want to flare the fenders even farther). Tire wear hasn't seemed to be affected either. As for wheel bearings, I have a shop press so I can replace them all day long for $17 if I need to, no problems as of yet and I don't drive the car much anymore since I have a daily driver so I am not worried.

i bet you told that strut bar story over and over. funny i always thought you had an accent for some reason. perhaps it's the big change in how the tiburon looked before that sidetracked me.
that's really creative with the strut bar... i wish i had that much confidence i could get something like that to fit right up but being that my family is foreign we don't really have any goodies or press. and when i had a job i wanted to spend my money on the car instead of the tools.

Thanks for the kind words guys! smile.gif
HKC: yeah, it is nice to have the tools too! Saves sooo much money and can actually make you money with side jobs.
tanc: Post up some pics or PM me some! I'm always interested in one off parts! I thought about making a camera mount but I wont likely be spending money on a camera any time soon so...

Haha, thanks Eric.
The hood is a carbon creations, the weave is pretty darn good, but for $450 not including shipping I am a bit dis-satisfied with the quality, the mounting bolts are only 10mm from the oem 12's, and the hood latch shaft diameter is about a tenth of an inch smaller than oem (I had to modify it to get it to the right thickness so the stock latch would hold it down properly). I also had to grind out the hinge mounting holes as the nuts that were molded into the hood were placed incorrectly.
Of course that is how just about everything I have done to this car has went, anything and everything seems to require custom modification to work properly. I suppose that is part of the fun and satisfaction for me though.
I wish VIS made hoods for us.
I would probably go for the ebay hood if I had a choice now, but I do get compliments on it all the time so I guess it might be of better quality than I am stating.
OT: Getting the haltech dialed in, car is running GOOD. I need to go to a dyno while still NA. You can see my tuning computer in one of the pics.
