I've seen 2 different burgundy/maroon/brick-red tiburons... one went to SUNY New Paltz in downstate NY, and there's one a few blocks away from me in Binghamton. Both look(ed) bone-stock. It must be a 2000. Hyundai released many "unusual" colors for the launch year of the 2nd gen. They cut the colors way down for 2001.

This is the color chart from the 2001 Tiburon brochure that I have. My scanner isn't hooked up, so here's a pic that I took...

O.K. It's KJ..Mica green (U.S. only version)...just like tibwrc said..I wonder why Hyundai changed the name from Forest Green to Mica? Thanks Majik..I thought the color code was in the VIN. So this was just a name change mistake..LOL..even the touch up paint I have says Forest Green Pearl..

Default I4-V6 engine swap

that color is def the same as the pic posted earlier, but like majik said, the flash messed with the color a bit. that is the "antique rose" and it's the color i've seen on the tib here. it's a stock color, i'm sure of it. before i bought my car, i did the 'build your own' on the hyundai website and THAT color was def on there cause it's what i wanted.

Default Re: Redz is up to his usual hijinks

the tib pictured in the link def. looks burgundy 2 me, there's no way that looks even close to the red tibs i've seen. THere's definatly a difference bro. Ask the guy whos selling the car what color code it is, who has a red tib here anyone know the color code for the paint??

It cant be the same ##. Why would they put a flash on in the daytime? Picture is clearly takin in sunlight hours.

2000's & 2001's must have diff color options. For example 2000's have the "Antique Red" and 2001's have the Burgundy color. Could be true b/c apparently you cant get white in 01 but you can get a white 00 stock.

Other than that only thing i could think of was that the tib pictured in the link was custom painted? kinda doubt it... looks very stock.

Guys, that RED was an available color from Hyundai, just wasn't used much. I almost got one that color but it didn't have a sunroof.

I see 2 of them in ABQ all the time.
