Unless something happens, I'll be there.

I like the idea of mid-late september for the cooler weather, ect., but it's also when the first exams will be starting. A bit earlier than that would be nice(less missed days ect.), but I'll be there regardless of that lol.

Track would be fun, but if I'm road tripping in the tibby(not trailering it) then I wouldn't be able to run mine for fear of breaking something.

BBQing and cruises sound fun. I'd also be up for hiking and stuff like that.

Hiking... NOT a bad idea at all. Hmm, I've got a few ideas going now.

Maybe we'll do a drive down to White Sands, then one up to Battleship Rock the next day. Do a bit of hiking up there.

No, even better, we'll do something somewhat local, then go up to Battleship Rock, and around to Bandelier National Monument. You guys will flip out.

Thats a lot of driving REDZ! I dont think all of the people that are driving in will want to drive too much more than they already did. i suggest a drive up the crest or a canyon and bbq there. They aren't here to see all of new mexico, they are here for the cars and to b.s. with people about those cars. Just my two cents.

White Sands isn't that far, and I know I would like to go to some place new. Some of these folks have said they want more group driving.

I dunno. I think one longer drive is fine. Hell, everyone that went with us to bandelier last time absolutely loved it. Intense driving. We had a total of about 4.5 hours of driving, but that was with 2 long stops and 2 short stops.

I'd like to drive up into the Monzano's instead of the crest run this time. A short drive from Los Lunas.

Got any ideas up there?

BTW, Bandelier is cheap, an easy hike, and one of the most interesting places in NM. Filled with ancient Anasazi cliff dwellings, tons of stuff.

I wouldn't mind going to the crest and hiking, but that's HIGH as hell, and having done that hike, it takes your breath away HARDCORE. The 4th of July Canyon is supposed to be a decent short drive.

Let me do some route calculating, but this is just the beginning of the ideas thread.

4th of July Canyon is shown as #20 here.

Just so you can see where it is. I'll keep looking, but I've got some good ideas.

Hell AJ, it's too bad you weren't here for more of the last one, there was a LOT of everyone carwatching. LOL

I know some folks aren't that into drag racing, but I STILL remember my first trip out there and going to the drag strip. It was a lot of fun. So, the track sounds like a lot of fun as well. I'd be down for either, although, I do feel a little like Splintercel, not sure how hard I'd push the tib knowing I gotta long trip back.

Oh hell, Id f***in let it loose!! LOL!!!

LOL

I'm not a drag guy myself, I'd rather, as you know Tom, throw it through the curves.

Folks, let's start talking about dates, so I can see what's going on locally.

The Anasazi trip would be cool, but I'm about the only person I know of that would think so.

I like a nice mix of unplanned randomness (sitting around the cars), car activities (driving, racing, ect.), sight seeing, and good food.

I thought we didn't do much driving last time. I was enjoying it THAT much lol. I enjoy driving the Tibby, so a 5 hour fun run is nothing.

Hmm this is a little far.

Driving directions to Albuquerque, NM
4,470 km – about 1 day 19 hours

How close is the airport to where we would be meeting?
