Your not going to be able to tune timing by yourself,. thats not something you mess with... if he is taking it to a dyno, then I could see the SMT-6. But he was worried about a $50 price difference... tuning fuel and timing is going to take an hour and a half or so on a dyno, which is practically buying another piggyback in itself.

Here's a good webpage that shows a lot of the stuff the smt-6 can do. The "SMT tech notes" link is particularly interesting.

http://www.locustom.com/smt.htm

I don't think you NEED a laptop to tune the SMT6, as it has datalogging capability and you can unplug it pretty easily from the harness, then hook it up to your pc and change the settings. Plug it back in and there you go. A bit more of a pain but it works.

I've just dowloaded manuals for S-AFC2 and SMT-6. There are huge difference in tuning.

I think it's much easier to make mistakes tuning SMT-6 and blown your engine then tuning S-AFC2.

At what psi ignition timing should be corrected?

emanage, talked alot with 01turbotib. he loves the possibilities of the emanage. i already have it. with everything i need. and theres alot to do with it. we will see once its installed.

Is it more difficult to tune eManage then SMT6?

You need some special cable and software to tune the eManage, or that's how it's sold. I think if you look around hard enough you'll find how to construct the cable and where to get the software (you won't get it from greddy).

How much bhp (psi) can I run safely without correction of ignition timing? (with SAFC2, with 92 octan)?
