So what would you choose as a piggy back for turbo setup?

I know benefits of SMT-6, but in Ukraine S-AFC2 is cheaper. And S-AFC2 is easier to tune, +it has knocking monitor and display.

S-AFC is your going to tune it yourself and install yourself. SMT-6 if you were going to pay someone to tune it anyway and pay someone to install.

You can install the SMT6 and then have someone else tune it. Or if you have a laptop you can tune it.

Just saying the SMT-6 is more involved install-wise, and with the S-AFC its much easier to tune by yourself. Since he is concerned with $50 price difference, tuning it himself seems like the way he would go, considering dynos are probably few and far between in the Ukraine and they're probably as expensive o moreso than in the U.S.

Oh akright that makes a little more sence. The SMT6 is just as easy to install as the SAFC2. The wiring diagrams are very similar. As for the tuning, if you dont have or have access to a laptop then definately go with the SAFC2. If you do however the SMT6 is very easy to tune through the software package. It also has a wider range of set points you can do over the SAFC2. I guess what it all comes down to is if you have or have access to a laptop.

I don't think having a laptop or not is the only issue differentiating between the SMT-6 and the SAFC I or II. Just because you don't have access to a laptop doesn't mean you should go with the SAFC. You have to consider the many tuning-related advantages the SMT-6 has over the SAFC.

Even if you are just NA and want to tune fuel (which SAFC is good for) I would STILL say go with the SMT-6 to benefit from the timing tunability.

After reading that thread in the link ("SMT-6 vs. SAFC") I think SMT-6 is the way to go. Laptops are getting cheaper and cheaper.

***----***I accidentaly voted for SAFC, oops....so minus one from SAFC and add one to SMT-6. smile.gif
