Learn to mig weld first. Mig welding would be sufficient for what you are planning on. Unless you are making a show car or welding titanium or some exotic metal, mig is fine. Just clean up the welds with a grinder and anodize the pipes afterwards. I would find fairly thin walled tubing for your charge pipes just to save weight. Just make sure you learn to weld before attacking the charge pipes, you don't want to spend time making a nice charge system just to put crappy welds on it.

thanks for the info, one of my buddies actually has a mig, maybe I'll try to get him to help me out laugh.gif
and on another note
hey redz, not to be a jerk or anything but:
1. tiny url is not a god send, the forum does have the built in funtion of putting text you specify in for the url if you put it in the " blah blah " format like this:
everyone click here to bump up my hit counter
personnally I don't understand why the long url's bug yah, but I'll try to put it in the above format from now on. oh and btw strickly from a security point of view the tiny url's make it alot easier for someone to direct you where you don't wanna click. (trojans, spyware, etc.)
2. I do not put my name in every post, mainly I put it in posts where others are helping me (as frequent as the case may be). I'm not exactly sure why but somewhere along the way I picked that habit up (on another board I frequent it is extremely common) and usually when i put my name it'll be right after a "thanks" or "thanks in advance" or a "crapfully yours".
but anyways
thanks for all the input guys, I don't think I'm gonna buy a welder or anything. but hopefully I'll be able to learn enough to make some nice pipes.
crapfully yours
the cow of steel
