Sure, a roots s/c have no power in the higher rpms. And the centrifugal s/c have no power in the lower rpms.

But if you have a twin-screw s/c you can have the same power as a t/c from 2000rpm till redline lol.gif
In my opinion best way to go for fi...

Sorry, my mistake. It's the touque-curve I thought about...
But the tourque is basically what make' you happy and your car fast. The hp doesn't realy matter that much...

I've voted for SC, obviously!

I regularly drive turbo car in addition to my s/c tib, they both make about the same power, but I prefer the power delivery from the s/c so much smoother, you can accelerate quickly in any gear which is great for overtaking. With the turbo there's the whole lag thing to get over, but the time it's spooled up, the s/c car will have zoomed off into the distance smile.gif

ok, I read everything on SC and Turbo and personally SC is better for me since I race my car on SOLO events and SC seem to provide the power that I would need when I need it.

Now what we need to know is who makes a SC for our engine and where can we get it, basicly what's our options ?
Maybe while we're at it we could list the turbo options too.

Here is some option that I found so far;

Alpine as both;
SC http://www.alpine-developments.co.za/Hyund...iTiburon20S.htm
Turbo http://www.alpine-developments.co.za/hyund...tiburon_2.0.htm

Speedstat has a few options;
http://www.speedstate.com/Merchant2/mercha...e=HYU-FIN-FIKIT

HDK Autosport;
http://hdkautosport.com/Merchant2/merchant...tegory_Code=UTH

Sharkracing;
http://www.sharkracing.com/hyundai/tiburon...n/96tib-en.html

So, if anyone has anything else, let us know.

I have the Alpine sc and as a word of warning it did not bolt on directly and did not make the advertised power, I have only achieved the 200 mark by spending a lot more money on tuning the kit and adding things like the water injection.

Theres nothing wrong with the kit other than that tho. Just don't expect to bolt it on and have it make great globs of power :-)

oh and thanx redz, I thought I should pop over for a look.

It's a good site. Good setup. Help us get bigger and better Xorro!

BTW, personal advise.

After doing MUCH research on HDK, anyone with more than 2 braincells would be NUTS to buy from HDK Autosport. Those folks are losers and don't ship. Check out their "UNSATISFACTORY" BBB rating. Check out the complaints. Don't order from them. I managed to get a set of clearance guage faces in 4 days from them. Great. They have never answered any one of my more than 20 emails in the last 2 years. Some folks have been waiting for parts for over 2 years from them. If you go there, use it as a catalog and then order from Kspec.com or HP.com. Maybe even (Can't belive I'm saying it) SR, you have a better chance of getting it from them.

Do the research folks. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but it's gotta be known.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled thread...
