might be kinda off topic but- can a tiptronic component be put in an Rd?

cause if thats possible, that woudl be koo.

I need to disagree with you on this one. Colin ran he Alpine setup untuned on 10psi. He blew up his engine and is running a 1.8 now. I am the one that was running 12psi tuned on an auto. If treated properly, the auto can handle the power. You cannot beat on the car daily, or else the transmission will go. I was running a transmission cooler and 12psi for 2 months fine. The only reason I am going to a manual is for more power. A manual swap will cost you anywhere from 400-900 dollars. I got mine locally for 424 shipped. They pulled everything themselves, and it came out great. Searching locally is your best bet for a manual swap if thats your route. But in this case, it's not. So under 10psi will be safe for the auto trans in your case.

I ran 15 psi on my auto for a year, then when my motor died (not the engines fault, tuning fault) I had the motor built up, and right now im doing yet another 8 months with no problem on the tranny running just about the same boost. Im running 3 coolers (including the stock cooler; 2 aftermarket coolers after radiator) which has done a good job of keeping the fluid in good shape (light cherry color still!)

in high boost/hp applications is where an auto tranny shines over manual... but i has to be built up to handle it

anyway, i still stand by the fact that you can spend less money and have the manual, rather than dumping all this cash into the autotragic.

been reliable for me. You have to remember the auto tranny after 2003 are very reliable. In fact if you read the changes, hyundai notes they improved the reliability of it. Im running high power on my tranny with 0 problems and 0 slipping for almost 2 years total.

Weve yet to see a tiburon reach 1/4 mile times that would be only possible with an auto. At least in the states.

Even the APE's ET is not at the point where you need an auto.
