The 1.8 and the 2.0 have the same bore but different strokes. You would have to replace the rods, and the crank.

For the cost of the parts and the labor, it would be cheaper to buy a used/rebuilt 2.0L for about $650 and install that.

You also need to change the ECU with the 1.8 to 2.0 Conversion, as we have recently found the 1.8L has a different ECU than the 2.0L.

In regards to the price increase, that is what Gavin told me. That once their distributor in the USA is setup, the price jumps back up to $2700. If you order now, it is $1900. I would reccomend ordering it now...even if you don't install it for 2-3 months.

1.8L has 130 Hp and 120 Torque
2.0L has 140 Hp and 130 Torque (132 according to some sources)

So let me get this straight.. we have two months left befor the prices on the alpine units go up? I am really considering getting the supercharger on my tibb. I am more for the all time torq and less maintnace. I will work on other mods to get the diffrance for the loss of not going with the turbo.

After the Supercharger install on Yamaneko's Elantra...we are going to install 4-1 headers and a new exhaust system. That should gain another 5-10 Wheel HP at least. So....The Supercharger is a good option for you.

I'm not 100% sure when the price increase is going to happen. You might be able to secure the lower price now by putting down a deposit. Just a thought.

Call or e-mail Gavin of Alpine Developments to be sure.
