Default Turbo for 1.8L

OK guys it is offical!!! I got the email back and the turbo from Alpine Developments does work on the 1.8L. Here is the mail

Jeremy,

Thank you for your e-mail. Hope you had a good weekend. The turbo set
up
for the 2.0L Tiburon
will fit the 1.8 unit that you have. No problems as the cylinder head
is
exactly the same as the one
on the 2L. Please contact me as soon as you are ready so that we may
process the necessary
invoice and payment documents.

Regards,
GAVIN

Hell, I never knew it was in question.

The 1.8L and the 2.0L are identical externally. Which means anything that bolts onto the 2.0L will bolt on to the 1.8L.

Compresion ratio with spacer will not be the same as the 2 liter and the extrafueling box injector has to be different, the turbo itself may not be suitable. They might have a kit for it but variables are different and therefore some parts should be set differently or be different all together??????

True...but the compression difference between the 1.8 and the 2.0 is only .3

You won't mess up a system with LESS compression and .3 isn't that much.

Not really, it could use the same box.

It is suitable. There is not that big of a displacement difference between a 1.8L and a 2.0L engine.

Mario-

No offense was intended.

I agree with you, Caveat Emptor (buyer beware) anytime you are buying things like this!

I was simply posting the point by point info for everyone's benefit.

Again, No offense or "smackdown" was intended.

I often post similar things to get Red to spell things out point by point so people understand them.

for the next 2 months I think it is 1900 plus 300 shipping. After that, they will have a distributor in the usa, and will raise the price back up to $2700

Couldn't the differences btw the 1.8 and 2.0 be adjusted with the wastegate and tuning? I know everything will bolt up, since everything that works on one works on the other. But couldn't we sort of de-tune it for the 1.8 and still make it work.

Also, Random how sure are you of this price increase? It may make the differnece between me waiting until next summer and getting one now.

Thanks,
AC
