yeah, my tib was 8-10psi and i hated it everytime the WG opened up.. mine dumped right below the WG and sounded like poop.. id take the reduced efficiency and have it routed to the DP, or go internal gate any day haha..

It probly doesnt help that the dumptube is like 3 feet long lol .. but still.. i want it put in the exhaust so i dont have to hear it.. it makes an awful noise as soon as i start building boost.. even at 1psi

WG shouldn't really be making any noise until you hit the boost level its set at. do you have any idea of the spring thats in the WG?

Maybe you're just hearing the turbo sucking air in? Mine is pretty loud

Its boosts to exactly 5psi so im assuming thats the spring setting.. the wastegate is kinda sketchy tho .. it was sticking open and dumping at idle.. i think luc ordered a new one and is giving me the one off his car.. and we know it works properly

from the pics i though you were going to recirc it....18inches down the pipe wont hurt flow all that bad...especially if its merged correctly.

i still think your making it more difficult then it has to be with that big turbo and an external gate.

Sorry Nate, my vacuum source is taken from the top port from the purple housing.

Take off the BOV, get your compressor and set the regulator to 15psi. Blow in top port and check if it opens. Who knows, my BOV was used for a month before I bought it, plus its a knockoff.

something is up with the wastetgate...thats my hunch. I took it apart and the valve was sticking...one time i got under the car we thought it had a huge exhaust leak on our v-band, theni stuck my hand on the dumptube and it was blowing out exhuast..lol at IDLE! Needless to say the wastegate we have on there now is a freebie (and a fail), i got her a tial one to put on there, if at that point the note doesnt change on thw wg, we'll recirculate it, however i think its going to get better.

As for the bov, we'll try using the assist (the second bottom port on the bov), as see if that works.

was a false alarm on the boost controller ,ended up being a set of yellow jacket coils for our friends skyline 02.gif lol

Only1db: This may be a big turbo in yours eyes but the thing spools full boost by just over 3 grand..Choosing a turbo is a personal choice, not everyone likes the same turbo for different reasons, some people like 2800 full boost, that falls off by 6 k. Some people like full boost by 3500 and mnake power to redline. Some people like lag, full boost by 4500 and go to redline. Melissa seems to like it and thats all that matters, we don't find it too complicated at all smile.gif

we're just updating the thread alot so it seems alot worse then it actually is lol.
