Seoulfulracing Turbo Kit
alright i found out why using 1.8 rods and pistons is a bad idea
with that rod and piston the piston never actually reaches the top of they cylinder so finding TDC when your seting up the timing belt will be a bish
also since it doesnt go all the way up you can accumulate rust at the top of the cylinder plus you can start to build oil and gunk up there which could cause misfiring later on
and finally the reason its not a good idea is the quelch area will be messed up
D i keep tryin to tell you
dont be cheap!!! lmao.gif
it would cost you ALOT more to install a new motor cuz yours blew up cuz you didnt do it the right way the first time

what about head? piston never touches the head and there may build up same crap.

how bad it would be?

a decomp plate would be better than 1.8 rods and pistons.. it still does screw up the quelch area but your pistons will still read TDC of the head, your just adding a 2-3mm plate and you wouldnt have to tear apart the motor.. motor work is EXPENSIVE, and a decomp. plate is sufficient for a setup that your looking for D.
motor work is not expensive in Ukraine, I can overhaul whole engine for $300. Or change pistons and all gaskets for $150.
what can be wrong with quelch area?
what is the difference for pistons were their TDC will be? They should not notice it.

im talking about as far as the lil bit of rust collecting. if theres a decomp gasket on there, rust cant collect in it, you wouldnt even have to touch the internals. the quelch area would be bigger which would affect it, i duno how much, but it would, i also dont know what can come of the bigger quelch area.
i cant see how motor work like that can be so cheap, if it is i wouldnt trust it. you have all your rod bearings, bolts, pistons, honing, etc.. i duno just seems too good, but its up to you mang..

They are using the 1.8 pistons because they are stronger and its basically kind of like a stroker kit right? The guy who is offering this kit has the same setup installed on his car and dynoed at a little over 400hp to the wheels, there is a decent sized thread on elantraxd that has tons of pics of the install process on his car...here it is: http://www.elantraxd.com/forums/showthread...?t=12261&page=1 he has more info and more pics on his website too...
