djalkyd - It seems like you're turning this into a race only setup without A/C. Why don't you just mount the alternator where the A/C compressor is? It would clean up the front of the car and save the alt. from the heat.
You put the coil "on" the plugs. dunno.gif
Instead of using a twin wasted spark coil system, you get 4 individual coils and mount them closer to the plugs with equal length wires.
Here is an example of what most car maufacturers use in stock COP setups. It's actually a 4g63t owner that replaced his stock coil setup for a COP. There are NO plug wires here:

My 96 Accent GT with the (rare US) 1.5 DOHC had a COP setup.
I got my setup started by installing and using a DIS4 which allows you to use 4 coils. I mounted it in the middle of the firewall so I can have 2 MSD coils on each side. cool.gif
The DIS 2 that people have been getting won't allow you to run that many coil packs.

How did you do the coil on plug system?

Ahh, I get it. So I'd need the DIS 4 first, then the appropriate coils and wires.
Any part #'s for the latter? I had looked into doing this when someone tried a different COP system a year or 2 ago.

hey reds, i used the dis-4HO and the msd dis coils and i shortened my magnacore wires to equal length. i programmed the haltech E-11 and the dis-4 to run coil on plug. i believe you can get away with just the dis-4 to do coil on plug but i haven't researched it for use on the stock ecu. being that it is just ground side control it would still run wasted spark on 2 of the coils but with individual coils instead of the coil pack.
i am running individual cylinder coil on plug so i am not sure if that can be done on the stock computer without some sort of ignition control module (ignitor chip).
Jon, thanks so much for that idea. i think i will run the alternator in place of the a/c. i was basically running it in the power steerings place. as for the wasteed spark, it may not be much af a gain but smoother running with coil on plug and i actually saved a few bucs doing it the way i did. plus i thought it looked pretty trick with a custom coil mount which also hides the stock fuel rail which i think is ugly.
hey patreezy, i only have an 8" tach and speedo, the other guages are 2 1/4 laugh.gif . i think if everything was 8" then stevie wonder could drive my car with helen keller as co driver. Eyecrazy.gif
